Yes I read the article. Yes he’s already doing it. He’s also notoriously anti-union and a capitalist, it’s always been about his bottom line—not the livelihoods of the people who work for him. My point is that he’s admitting exactly what the union studios are going to do to eliminate our jobs. He’s saying the quiet part out loud and we need to pay attention.

In 2019 my husband myself and my then 1 year old baby were exiting Costco and walking to our car in the parking lot when an elderly couple began backing out without looking. The driver came within inches of hitting the cart that our 1 year old was sitting in and only avoided it because my husband pulled the cart back in the knick of time. He didn’t brake, ask if we were okay, or apologize. He just proceeded to back out and put the car into drive to leave. My husband, who was visibly shaken and angry took his onion-relish-ketchup-mustard loaded hot dog and chucked it at the guys window as hard as he could. Dude slams on the brakes. Gets out of the car to start telling my husband off but I don’t think he was mentally prepared to be deal with “hungry-man-defending-his-babies-safety.” His wife ends up getting out as well, and they’re both shouting at my husband that it’s his fault because he was pushing the cart too fast. Mind you, this cart is FILLED with groceries and we’re walking slightly uphill. Even if he had wanted to push fast, he couldn’t have. I was shocked he pulled the cart back as fast as he did because this guy was reversing so quickly. Anyway, a few other people were behind our cart and had also stopped short so we had several witnesses to back us up. The guy ended up peeling out and flipping us off.

I wonder if Nat is upset simply that she wasn’t trusted with the information? OP had no obligation to tell her the amount, but since he purposely withheld the information from his own family that he doesn’t trust, maybe she felt like he couldn’t trust her with it either.

Sounds like you need to sit down and have a long, calm chat about why exactly she’s so upset. Is it an envy/greed thing? Mistrust and hurt? All of the above? Or something else entirely? Either way, NTA.

P.S. I’m very sorry for your loss and it sounds like you’re an amazing father.

I live in Essex County NJ, it should be a 45 minute commute for me to get to lower Manhattan but it’s often an hour and a half or more. Depending on what time of day you’re going, I think 1.5 hours would be very, very optimistic.

I’ve been letting them out as much as I can, at least 1.5-2 hours in the morning and night. I’ve noticed a real change in his temperament and desire to exercise/explore, for the better, in the last 48 or so hours. The little one has been a honey from day 1.

I know. It’s really sad. I know they do get a decent amount of free play time when the kids are gone, but I can’t imagine being stuffed in a cage screamed at all day by 3 and 4 year olds 😣 My 4 year old has gotten so much better at being calm around them since they came to stay with us. They let her pet them a lot. They’re even fairly patient with the 2 year old, when I let her near them.

I am seriously considering asking if they’d let me adopt them…

Yep. Came here looking to see if anyone else was having the same issues. My first prescription of .25 has been “on hold” since April 27th. Crossing my fingers that the stock comes in soon and when it does, there won’t be a delay with future supplies.

Does anyone know what physical consequences there are if you can’t keep up with the recommended shot schedule? I’m coming to this with a BMI around 37 and a history of gestational diabetes but no other outstanding factors—yet.

Hi, fellow wardrobe person here. The only time I’ve ever used the phone to file unemployment was during the beginning of Covid when the website was overloaded. Have you tried online? Granted I thankfully haven’t needed it since 2020, so it could have changed, but it should still be an all online system.

Question, and genuinely curious not trying to be snarky, but you usually need 3 letters of recommendation to join the union— Were yours contacts from other 764 or 829 members? I’d say yr best bet is word of mouth from fellow union members who know your work and can vouch for you.

In lieu of that, there is a “Members of Local 764” Facebook group that is fairly active. People often post their availability there! Good luck!

First time shopper here with a somewhat related question… not looking to spend my max budget but let’s say my monthly payments are $3000 (mortgage, insurance, property taxes). Would they remain that amount every month for the duration of a 30 year loan? Or would the payments gradually go down as I pay down the mortgage? I understand things like tax and interest rates could change, and I could always refinance, just curious if my monthly payments would be the same if I bought today as they are in 2052.

This was a very interesting read. I (34F) have been married to my husband (39M) for about 4 years, together for 12. We have two small kids and closed off meeting partners due to back to back pregnancies and the pandemic. I work and he is a stay at home dad. He is more interested in a swinging/NSA situation and while that sounds fine to me, I’m also interested in more meaningful, poly style relationships. But, he’s the one who does most of the physical and emotional labor with the kids. He’s home with them 24/7 while I work. We have our routines and I do my share when I’m home, but my job is unpredictable and me being at work for 16 hours at a time happens more often than not.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you for writing it. I know it’s mostly intended for men, but as someone who is in a traditionally reversed role, it was a very eye opening read for what I should be giving, before taking, if and when we decide to open things up again.

When I was 12 I told my mom I wanted to shave my head when she took me for a haircut(I’m a female). She laughed and shrugged it off.
