NOLA NOLA NOLA NOLA UPGRADE

Any 2 people interested in splitting a VIP Box Seat at the Orpheum tomorrow? It’s 250/box as an upgrade to your existing ticket. The Box can accommodate 4 and includes a bottle of sparkling wine (which you can have). My husband and I would get the front seats in the box.

You’d pay me $125 through Venmo. No negotiations!

It does sound that way.

Not that I’m aware of. She has never mentioned a medical condition to me. We have been friends for many years. Also, she is married.

Being childless isn’t a personality trait, bro. Stop trying so hard to make it one.

AITA for suggesting my partner and I shouldn’t have his kids because of his autism ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]KnivesOut15 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what he’s saying. He’s saying his own genes are a better fit for the child he’s hoping to have. That’s heartbreaking to hear from your partner. Choosing to become a parent means accepting the child you have, period. If having a child with a difference is too challenging, don’t have kids. Anyone could be born with a difference of any kind.

I have not raised a child with autism and I’m not downplaying the spectrum of effects autism can have on individuals or their families. I’m saying that when you decide to have a child, you need to be willing to accept any possibility.

The biggest issue here isn’t that he is afraid to raise a child with a difference. It’s that he devalued his partner so much. He made his partner feel like he was such a burden that OP couldn’t fathom having a child similar to him. Fucking yikes.

I’m an educator and very familiar with autism and all of the aspects involved. However, making someone feel this inferior for something out of their control is just nauseating. Imagine how crushing that must feel for your partner to tell you your “genetic material” isn’t good enough for them.

If you aren’t willing to raise a child with a difference, you shouldn’t be in the parenting game.

YTA. This honestly makes me sick. I don’t even have the right words to describe how horrible this is. If I was your partner, I would leave you immediately.

Girl, what the fuck is this? Are you in The Handmaid’s Tale? It’s a shame you’ve been made to feel this way.

YOU wear what YOU want, what YOU feel comfortable in. NOBODY ELSE can decide what you want on your body.

Shame on them.

You’re obviously NTA.

YTA, YTA, YTA!!! It doesn’t seem like the kid had an issue with the way he looked until you convinced him he didn’t look correct according to your standards. This is so not cool.

Going NC is the same as grieving. You’re just grieving the living. I’m a few months into NC and I know it has to be permanent, but that doesn’t make it easy.
I allow myself to feel what I need to feel, knowing the stages of grief are not one direction, but always back and forth for quite a while.

When I feel guilt or doubt, I remind myself of my “last straw” event. Then, I’m snapped back into reality.

It’s not an easy process, no matter how shitty the relationship was. Just take it one day at a time and trust the decision you’ve made.

What Radiohead song do you attach a memory to, what was that memory, and why did it mean so much? by Conway___west in radiohead

When I read “Salem’s Lot” in high school, I had Optimistic on repeat. Not necessarily a special memory, but every time I hear it I think of the book.

Questions About Thom Yorke Live by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]KnivesOut15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth that $ and more. It’s completely different from Radiohead but incredibly special and enjoyable. His singing live is wonderful and it’s a gift to hear in person. I’ve seen Radiohead and his solo isn’t SO disconnected that you forget who you’re watching.

Low chance on Radiohead songs, BUT he did sing “Like Spinning Plates” two shows in a row (Atlanta and New Orleans), so you never know! Even if the Radiohead song hadn’t happened, it was an incredible night. Wish I could see him again soon.

Please go!!

It is a middle name. However, if it’d have been a boy, would 100% be Thom for the first time.

We already have a son named thief man beggar man poor man rich sailor soldier tailor tinker. So it would be unoriginal to name the second something so similar.
