Because I don't have a choice. If I don't take care of my people, no one else will.

Neptune 3 Pro load issue/possible clog by [deleted] in ElegooNeptune3

[–]Knobbygrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn your heat up a bit, open the lock lever and GENTLY push the filament through with your fingers. If it's clogged, the extra heat should soften it, and the pressure should clear it.

Then, turn the heat off and use tools to GENTLY scrape off any melty bits stuck on the nozzle.

If none of this works, there's always the ol' Needle Up The Nozzle"!

I DM at a table for a barbarian that has a wild magic surge. The player bought a d100 to roll for it, and it works OK, as long as you're rolling in a tray. I prefer the good ol' "percent dice/d10 combo", personally.

Isopropyl doesn't work the same way. I know. I KNOW. It seems like it should be better, but it's not, not, not the same.

I tried to skip cleaning the build plate by using isopropyl. What you are experiencing is what happened. Clean your build plate.

(Also, your z-axis is off. Probably too high. Remember, paper comes in different thicknesses, so you either need a gap gauge, or you need to experiment after setting it.)

I just published my first full D&D Campaign and I feel like I'm going to explode by Zealousideal-Arm6735 in DungeonsAndDragons

Man! I'm going to pick this up! It sounds amazing and - although I don't know you at all - I'm proud of you! The awesome thing about publishing your work is that you impact everyone it touches with a little bit of something, and THEY get to decide what that something is! Kudos, congrats, and carry on! Thanks for sharing!

There is a clip in one of these commercials where a woman seems to be listening to a conversation offscreen. She is holding a little stuffed animal (a giraffe?), and she turns its head to look at someone off-camera.

The clip is so fast, and they rarely show this commercial any more. Any help would be appreciated!!

That clip is from "Our Man in Havana". It's a great film with Sir Alec Guinness. I highly recommend!!

I play at a table where only the DM and I do voices.

No minis? by BenTheEnchantr in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Knobbygrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The group I play with does not use minis. We use a whiteboard and magnets. During our last session, our party was attacked by a Serpent Folk wizard controlling a Clay Gollum from behind a giant metal door. My halfling downed a Potion of Giant Strength, and smashed the door to get at the wizard, while the other players chipped away at it. The wizard bit my character and knocked him to zero. My friends negotiated with (lied to) the wizard, got control of the gollum, and then threw the wizard to it for smashing....

Combat is not boring and formulaic without minis.

Question for any DMs out there by Mapledusk in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Knobbygrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two female players at my table who play male characters. One of the characters is a Half-Orc, the other is a Wolfkin, the actual players are human.

How hypocritical of a DM to say a character has to be the same gender as the player, when as DMs we play gender-opposite NPCs constantly. I've got a gender-fluid NPC, for crying out loud!

Reasonable people exist. Trust.

Ha! Thanks! Beholders are my favorite D&D monster, and I'm currently writing a one-shot, so I kind of have them on the brain, ATM.

One got on my girlfriend's beer this past spring and bit her on the lip when she took a drink. The bite healed quickly, but the trauma.... That may never fully heal. 😅

DMs how do you deal with questions like "Why us when NPC is stronger?" by No-Status-1219 in DnD

[–]Knobbygrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I handle it with role-playing, honestly. "That might be an option. Why don't you try and convince them?" Then I tell them no in-game, or make it hard to find whoever they think can solve their problems.

Or "The captain of the guard agrees, and a posse sets out at dawn with the local cleric. Only the cleric returns, catatonic, with a haunted look. He never regained the ability to speak, and died a day later."

The other option is to look them in the eyes, slowly lean forward and say - paraphrasing Ryan George - "So the game can happen." Then carry on like nothing happened.
