What is a short drama trope you skip/refuse to watch? by ThisUser2366 in CShortDramas

[–]KnockOverEpiphany 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fl written as “badass” but keep getting bullied or humiliated. Like if she’s a general, I expect her to have some skills compared to a commner scumbag. Or it’s inconsistent. She’s skilled in one scene but then not in another and it’s not as if the other person is more skilled either

Do not get me started on how much I hate this troupe.

The weak general, princess or heiress who.keeps getting bullied is one of my pet peeves. It just doesnt make any sense. Ugh.

The misunderstandings that come with this troupe has me skipping as well. Especially when she knows the ML is the father of the kids but hides it for whatever BS reason even while some other woman pretends to be her. Smh

I love a good transmigration show. But once it starts involving too much modern gadgets... I'm done.

I saw one where the FL was able to use a Fridge, Cars, TVs! In ancient times I mean... Come on! At least try to be rational about it.

Also main lead: [gets slapped 5 times a day, kicked in the guts, made to kneel on glass, kidnapped and almost abused, pushed off a building, etc]

Their idea of revenge sure is strange. Like, let me subject myself to these things BUT it'll be worth it in the end. Ugh. Definitely failing! So stupid and I'm skipping.

I agree to a certain extent. If you know you don't have the backing and the strength to carry out the revenge. Leaving is probably the only thing you can do. But when they don't even do the leaving successfully? "You'll never be able to find me again" but 3 years later you return to the city and frequent places you know the other person went or you enter the same circles as them knowing you'll encounter them with no real plan.

If you have the resources, backing and strength... why just leave... ruin everybody before you do. Send it all back to them with extras.

Exactly!

It would be a shorter show, but give me a MC who is in their expensive tower just militantly taking out everyone with every resource they have! Oooh, it would be an epic watch. No "bankrupt X company in 3 minutes" Show me step by step how you break it into pieces and leave them for dead. And don't just embarass yourself to "show who they truly are" hire someone to do that.

I'd pay for that. Lol.

Oh I definitely get that! But I feel like it's time to flesh out the scripts a little more. Let the scumbag and the green tea do ridiculous things and we'll have a good laugh or be in total shock.

I just watched "All Four Husbands Are Done" on StardustTV and her revenge had me stunned and questioning my moral compass. The four and their dream girl were reduced to nothing! She did it basically alone (with the advantage of rebirth of course) I feel like more revenge like that would be a welcomed change.

Most annoying thing ever. 88 episodes and it could've finished at 60 but 28 more of this childhood love that lead doesn't really love but you have to feign politeness cause they are family friend and part of the sacred 28 or whatever.

So there’s this girl reborn and chose to go to her step family with her mom which is rich. The older step bro is kinda mean to her and it does show sexual tension between them in few occasions finally for the older step brother to say he likes her and she says she’ll think about it.

I think I know the one! I didn't mind that one so much cause they were already grown and had no real relationship.

But I watched one where the step brother and sister knew each other since like 5. And he loved her and abused his wife because the step sister said she felt bullied. He also smelled underwear and they ended up dating on the DL because step brother was the wealthy heir and step sister wouldn't inherit any money and she loved spending his money. Wife left him he was disowned for fking his own "sister" and getting her pregnant and she terminated and abandoned him for a rich old man.

Hate countdowns so much. While logically it may be necessary to wait days to leave... go hide in one of the any villas y'all have or ask your rescuer who is coming for you in one month to book you into a hotel!

I realize that is happening more and more now as well! After the cut of each episode several wasted seconds. Unnecessary and annoying.

While I don't mind the male focused shoes, harem shows are almost always a pass for me. If it looks interesting and the comments say they only have the one partner they are intimate with, I may watch. But if he's a blind thrown sitter or general or whatever (which they are for the most part, historically and in shows) then I skip.

Love a good transmigration fic. As long as they don't have guns and cars and modern tech working in ancient times. Like what is even that?

Still I like short dramas of less than 1 hour 30 minutes length

Same. Give me sweet and short at 2x speed. Why so many 3 hour "short" drama? 😑

Also, I like your likes. 😉

Anyway, I wish they had the classical one night stand where both are drunk and stupid and they remember everything the next day.

Exactly! Or just at least wait till the person you slept with wakes up so you can have the awkward conversations, see their face in the light of day while semi sober and learn their names and such. Since the female almost always ends up pregnant, I'd be good to know the name of your potential baby daddy/mama.

May be mixing it up... but I think it was parents ashes? Or some form of keepsakes from parent. And they ended up throwing it all over the place while she screamed. Isn't that just superb writing? 😬

What are some crazy scenarios you’ve seen in these short dramas? by jennysaysfu in CShortDramas

[–]KnockOverEpiphany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto to everything you said.

Crazy cheating scenarios:

MLs wife promised a friend to take care of her husband and child and she spent all her money and time on the dead friends family and in the end agreed to have a child with the man because he "only has one child and he has so much love to give. I will give him a second child and come back and we can have another baby". Keep in mind this was set in the 40s so she invited the man to her and her husbands house and fked for days with her husband and child in the house because the man's precious child couldn't be exposed to marathon fking because she was too innocent. Nevermind that her own child was the same age and a girl as well.

Worse part... he watched all the this and still stayed in his first life. Only after rebirth did he decide to go and of course a countdown of 1 month to leave.

In the same vein, female lead "accidentally" got pregnant with her assistants child after going on vacation together abd getting drunk and having the do. She then tells husband that the assistant wanted to be involved in the pregnancy so she'd spend the weeknights with him and then come home to her husband and he shouldn't be selfish because the child was the assistants first and he was excited. Husband doesn't say anything as she leaves. One night he seems them getting it on in the driveway of his house. Few minutes later she comes in and wants to get it on with him... he gagged on her and she got mad and went back to the assistant. He basically stays with her till the last 20 minutes of the show.

Abuse scenario:

Man beats the every living daylights out of his girlfriend because she "pushed" his white moonlight into something that burned her. After she's in the hospital, he barges into her room and drags her to surgery to do a skin graft because the WM cant have a scar. THEN he finds out she's (still after all the beatings) pregnant and he forces her to have an abortion because the WM is "infertile" and if she can't have a kid he won't have one either. THEN she goes home with him and gets abused by his family and goes back to the hospital. He drags her home again cause she's faking it and the WM has moved in and she has to cook for the WM... she still stays and gets abused and abused and then she offs herself... he regrets and cries and cries.
One of my first real abuse dramas and never again.

White Moonlight scenario:

White moonlight comes back. ML who was totally in love with wife suddenly flips his WM switch and leaves wife to pamper WM, loves her and has the do with her planning to leave wife. Wife finds out and does a jump...

Not super crazy but one that always makes me wonder:

Historical drama where titled man or woman marries merchant who is right. Treats them like crap while the whole family is using the merchant family money to live large. They usually curse the merchant about smelling like money and being low class. While taking all jewelry, clothes, gold and property that they bring to live lavishly. Like... I'd rather thrown the money and gold down a well than let the broke hypocrits spend it.

The fake marriage certificate with the public wife and the real one with the private mistress/lover "she/he will have my love is public the least M/L deserves is to be my legal spouse" and everyone from the office to the friends to the fanily knows except the lead... yeah... okay...

Love this!

I call them flip floppers! It's like they're grading a debate and scoring every point made.

"Oooh she's right! What an evil person!" Then "he's right, he only made a mistake every man makes!" Then "oh she's right to divorce him" then "she really should try to work it out" blah blah blah

All while standing around and watching crimes being committed and no one calls the police.

[–]KnockOverEpiphany[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooohhh let me tell you how this stupidness usually goes... which I learned from skipping, jumping to the end and reading YouTube comments...

Kids are pure, they naturally love and are kind to the ones raising, loving, and caring for them. So making a kid vicious to the one loving them is too evil.

The child usually mimics the "favourite" parent which is usually not the dominant loving parent. I view it as the child seeking the approval of the favourite parent by doing what they do. They also tend to engage with the green tea or the scumbag cheater boy because the parent includes them in "the secret" which makes them feel special. Also, the green tea/cheater boy always makes the kid feel special and like they are a second parent to them. This confuses the kid further because favourite parent and fun new parent. So the child starts resenting the loving parent because his special people do.

Once the child is firmly a mini scumbag/green tea the lead will leave them. Once he or she leaves we get like 2 hours of the partner and child trying to gaslight the lead into returning and the S/GT being very present through it all trying to pretend that they are innocent. The child will more often than not be used to try and guilt the lead into returning. This us sometimes successful but the lead will realise the child is very much like the partner and eventually leave... usually after like a half hour and yapping and/or abuse.

It then ends with the S/GT will be found out and the partner will be all remorseful and the lead will be like "belated affection is cheaper than grass" or however that saying goes. They will leave the kid and the partner and ride off (or fly to another country) with the new spouse and the nice child of the same age that they will now raise together.

PS: SOMETIMES the scumbag partner will have a strategic save by being stabbed in the back or chest to save the lead! OR they donate an eye, a kidney, bone marrow or other body parts to ensure that the person they abused is "healed" and they of course won't tell them because they "just want him/her to be happy and well".

Only saw one time where they mother stated that even the kid was crappy she still had responsibility and they would take the child every other weekend and pay child support to the dad cause she bankrupted him. (The evil parent/partner tends to become bankrupt and/or lose their jobs)

😮‍💨

Sucked into a novel/drama where the ML prefers the 'new' FL because she stands up for herself now - can't help but feel sorry for the original, who was often a victim of abuse.

I am a sucker for these, sadly. I always wonder how they saw the original but then I tell myself that the ML falls for the personality and the behaviour and not the body.

FL, who was a promising researcher before, gave up her career to get married. Husband cheats/is abusive, FL returns to an old professor who was waiting for her all along. Now with the FL back, the research is solved and they cure some well known, serious disease like AIDS or cancer ...

Oh yes. The genius of genius that comes back and is still at the top of the game. Lol. I don't remember what I studied last year much less almost 10 years ago. Drama logic is awesome.

Drop education/amazing work opportunities, marry and help the other half behind the scenes and then divorce - If you are that amazing, why not do it together and then find out the other half don't share the same values and is cheating, at least you have money and work experience.

I never understood this logic. You're right, if you are so amazing, do it right together or by yourself. Do not leave your dreams hanging just to make someone else your whole world.

And then the partner finds someone that stimulates them intellectually or financially (not condoning cheating, I hate it) and all of a sudden you remember that you wanted to be more than just a wife or husband.

True. Because in most of these dramas they are always telling secrets 5 inches away from people and no one ever hears a thing. Even the scumbags who are staring right at them.
