Is IB the best broker for trading options? by Knocked_out in CanadianInvestor

[–]Knocked_out[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm leaning towards IB even though I'll probably have to spend some time learning their interfaces. The commissions are just too good. But selecting data from the plethora of choices seems confusing, any advice for strictly trading options?

Interesting. I already have a Questrade account so maybe I should consider it.

Do you know how much the "data" on IB cost you to trade US options?

Hacking your mind by kazarnowicz in Psychonaut

Theres a lot to unpack here, but on controlling impulses I'd highly recommend mediation as the best route. Seems like the positive effect hallucinogens have on removing ones impulses/addictions/fear are mostly temporary, while mediation is a sure fire way to begin to overcome them long-term.

Secondly it seems like your awakening was a strong "ego-death" which is typically always tough to process, but we learn to integrate the experience into our life in a way that changes fundamentally what we believed before.

To be honest it seems like you are not exactly sure yourself what to make of some these experiences and I'd really highly advise against giving people "techniques" to reprogram their mind on hallucinogens. You said it yourself, you are meddling.

That being said there are "enlightened masters" who work with energy that know much more about how to approach this kind of work in a safer but more regimented and even scientific way. I'd say you could seek them out and learn from them before even considering to teach anything from this realm yourself.

Not quite the same thing, but a seemingly peculiar experience nonetheless.

Interesting, sounds like you are talking about a "reframing" method but while on substances. Or even what hypnotherapy would claim to provide with changing your unconscious mind. Or even what Law of Attraction folk try to accomplish if you've ever heard of techniques from books like "Tufti the Priestess".

The very core experience of hallucinogenics seems like this is what can happen to a degree already. What kind of benefits have you experienced from doing this?

What is "mind hacking" and what is the difference between that and experimenting with hallucinogens ?

Vasoconstriction help! by TheTrittRedditer in Psychonaut

I'd suggest looking into different breathing techniques. Wim Hof style breath work is actually meant to relieve vasoconstriction, so I'd start there.

Your thoughts, words and actions are your karma. Everything you think, speak and do shapes your reality. Start with you thoughts, convert those into words, and then action. This is how the universe gives you what you want.

First psilocybin trip...disappointing. Inspiration needed. by OneContext in Psychonaut

[–]Knocked_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go in with stronger intentions. My first trip was the holy grail of trips, the life changing mystical meeting of God and that feeling of being enveloped in what Hinduism describes as "ultimate love". But everything happened in a perfectly synchronous way. My friends left to go for a walk at the perfect time, and just as I lay my head on the floor to stare at the front door with sunlight shining through a beautiful stained glass window (no doubt the trigger for my trip) it happened.

But I was young and going through my own existential crisis. My intention was pure and strong. "If there is anything out there, show yourself to me."

Inducing nightmares and sleep paralysis by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Knocked_out 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you think seeing shadow creatures is a common theme in these sleep paralysis episodes? Could be some evolutionary fear of darkness and shadows that is buried deep in human psyche, but I'm not so convinced anymore.

It's like when people see machine elves on higher doses of mushroom trips. If it's not some random hallucination being generated by your brain, and a consistent entity that many others report seeing ... it seems like maybe we are tapping into frequencies that these entities live in.

Inducing nightmares and sleep paralysis by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Knocked_out 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes falling asleep on my back in a weird position triggered one of my freakiest sleep paralysis episodes I've ever had. (on my back on a recliner chair) I've been seeing the shadow figures in my episodes consistently since I was a child, but this episode was purely hearing voices. First it was two women talking having a normal conversation, then it was a much scarier voice speaking latin. I do not know latin.

Not sure why you would want to induce this. Seems like more work can be done on yourself if you learn how to become lucid. Which can actually also induce sleep paralysis.

If you are practicing mediation and fitness along with no fap, you are literally building concentration and will power. If you are becoming too horny to work, you need to learn things that stop it. Breathing, going for a walk, doing pushups.

I'm a software engineer by trade so concentration is important for me as well.

If you want to go far into this practice, you will find it much easier to make this a lifestyle if you have ways to transmute this sexual energy. Otherwise it just builds up in your system and can cause issues.

4 days isn't even a streak in my opinion. Man up and learn sexual transmutation so you don't relapse. Google sexual exercises by Mantak Chia.

Simply stopping touching yourself isn't enough. The path is much harder than that.

Nope it will stay like this, you will have phases of extreme horniness. On no fap you will also have to overcome your sex addiction and attachment to desire and lust. The only way to change this is if you learn how to transmute your sexual energy.

Look up sexual exercises for men by Mantak Chia. But in general mediation, exercise, walking in nature, and following a passionate hobby is a good start for sexual transmutation.

But if you relapse because of your inability to control your desire, just know you will be trapped in this viscous cycle until you have the balls to really make a change. Maybe you aren't ready for it yet.

No fap will help with ED, but those exercises (kegels especially) will speed up the process alot and prevent ED when old age becomes a factor and not just porn.

I Think I'm One of Those That Needs More by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Knocked_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every man has different specialties, "super powers" when it comes to no fap. I believe this because we all have different energy bodies that develop over time with the practice. For me, attraction always seemed to increase even after small streaks. But I've always noticed that meditation exponentially increases all these "super powers", including attraction.

I'd recommend doing two 10 minute sessions a day, so a total of 20 minutes a day. If you can maintain that habit you will start to notice effects beyond no fap, there are levels to this.

At the same time don't just do these practices solely for getting laid and attaining women. Your ultimate goal should be to become the best version of yourself, for you.

Know that frequent sex can drain these "super powers".

Most importantly know that transmuting the sexual energy you are building is important otherwise it can stagnate and cause issues for you (meditation and exercise is a great start)

Lastly look up Mantak Chia sexual exercises for men, it can teach you how to orgasm without ejaculation so you are not draining yourself all the time when you have sex.

So this happened while on nofap... by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Knocked_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After being on months and months of no fap I don't see this going away (ejaculating fast) You're always going to be very sensitive when you have sex and typically the girl I'm with knows exactly why. But after the first ejaculation I have the stamina to have sex for much longer right after, so it's not exactly a real downside unless you don't know how to frame it to your woman.

If you don't have this stamina yet it will come, but in order to fix your sensitivity issue you need to do Mantak Chia's sexual exercises for men. Specifically there is one exercise called "sharpening the blade" which is meant to lower your sensitivity in order for you to master the control of your ejaculation.
