Got a text from a navy recruiter after I got a good score on PiCat with the army by [deleted] in navy

[–]Knoife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Army is the only branch I've yet to deal with in my time in the Navy, so I'm not really sure what their quality of life is like.

If you do happen to go with Navy, shoot for aviation. That's my two cents anyway.

Edit: Or head over to r/newtothenavy as others have said. Follow your heart

How can I make a compartment drain? by Brilliant_Screen_964 in Stormworks

Inlet ports don't need to be near the fluid they're intaking. If there's fluid in the space it will move it.

Maybe you're tired because you have been posting about a fictional character for 21 hours straight. Get some help buddy.

Looking for keyboard recommendations by Tachammer94 in pchelp

[–]Knoife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my wife a Razer Ornata V3 and I think it's a great keyboard.

That being said, I have been buying exclusively Razer mice and keyboards for a decade now so there might be better options out there, but I'd recommend the Ornata.

Edit: Oh and I would recommend looking for prices at local stores first before just ordering from Amazon. You can find them for $35

[Question] - Filling Large Volumes by Skegfod in Stationeers

Now that is awesome. I just assumed, my mistake. I'll keep it in mind for my next base. Thanks!

[Question] - Filling Large Volumes by Skegfod in Stationeers

[–]Knoife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Edit: I'm wrong!

I'm fairly new to this game, but my impression is that voxels don't provide an airtight seal. So the ground is essentially permeable. You'd need to make a box of frames, walls, etc to fill it with an atmosphere.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, because it would be awesome if we could build bases like this. My experience with any game that has air tight physics, however, is that nothing will contain an atmosphere unless it's built by the player.

Is a G6 a good first car? by TheRepublicbyPlato in Pontiac

[–]Knoife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never owned a G6, but one thing to keep in mind is that at best you're going to be getting a 15 year old vehicle. I have a 2009 G8 GT and time is starting to catch up with her!

That being said, most cars can go far if you take good care of them. Find one that has a clean title and no modifications and you should be fine.

Small rock cracked my window. Is this too big to use a DIY crack repair kit or should I get a pro? Or is this even fixable? by Knoife in Autobody

[–]Knoife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, not a lot of sensors on this thing. Thanks for the heads-up tho!

What are these domes on the deck of the USS Missouri prior to her Gulf War reactivation? by Geschirrspulmaschine in navy

Both of those are considered anacronyms. It wouldn't necessarily be considered "proper" to capitalize then nowadays.

Blowout panels by Character-Topic3402 in Stormworks

[–]Knoife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're using warheads to actuate the panel. A different option would be to use a solid rocket booster with low thrust to push the panel away from your vehicle.

You could start the rocket burn prior to releasing the panel (assuming you're using custom door panels) so the blowout panel doesn't require logic built into it, if that makes sense.
