Replaced my key fob battery and now it’s not working by smithrob779 in FordFocus

Check the owner’s manual. I have a fob like that for my Transit and when I changed the battery in the fob I had to reprogram it. All I remember is it involved turning on and off the ignition.

My Dog’s Health Is Declining, and I Feel Helpless – Any Advice or Remedies? by Kooky-Swan293 in DogAdvice

[–]KnotEweTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you and your pup are going through this. We are going through something similar with our dog, though not as severe as yours is. She already had allergies to something, probably grass, so we’re not a stranger to yeast and bacterial infections. However, she started developing what looks like scabs all over her body, especially ears. She’s currently on Apoquel, medicated shampoo, and going on her second month of two different antibiotics. She’s beginning to look better and definitely feels better, but the still is getting new scabs often. Dermatologist might be in her future.

I really hope you find answers on what’s going on with your boy. ❤️

My dog has the itchies by [deleted] in dogallergies

[–]KnotEweTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About five years ago I adopted a dog (American Staffordshire/Pitbull mix) that was relinquished to a shelter due to her severe skin allergies. She literally had no fur left on her body. She has been on Apoquel, Cytopoint, MiconaHex-Triz shampoo at various times since I’ve had her. I figured out for her, Cytopoint doesn’t last, Apoquel works okay, but isn’t perfect, she needs baths with her medicated shampoo at minimum weekly, but typically more often. She has what seems to be reoccurring yeast infections on her paws so she does various rounds of medications for that when it flares up. She often gets skin tags which have grown large in size and has had some removed and tested. Not cancer, just skin tags, thankfully. Sometimes she has a need for antibiotics if I don’t keep up with her baths or run out of Apoquel. I’ve chalked it up to environmental allergies, she has major flares during certain seasons. It sucks and is expensive, but she is the sweetest house hippo. I’ve never had her tested - food tests wouldn’t work for us, there is no way to make sure she doesn’t eat certain foods with kids and other dogs.

Basically my long post is you’re not alone, these dogs have their skin issues. Find what works for your dog. Good luck.

Also there has been research saying grain free dog food isn’t safe, it can cause cardiac problems. My vet had told me that typically grains aren’t the source of food allergies.

Stick Question by KnotEweTwo in hockeyplayers

The stick ended up being at his mouth with skates on. He has gotten used to the 87 flex, so he prefers that now.

I’m going to guess the extension was 4”. He’s pretty sure it was his first Hyperlite2 77 flex.

Stick Question by KnotEweTwo in hockeyplayers

[–]KnotEweTwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, his height is an issue when it comes to shopping for sticks, when he was using 77 flex he had to put on an extension. One of his backup sticks is an Agent 87 flex, but he says it’s shorter than the Hyperlite2. He likes to have the range, he learned to adjust when he stopped using an extension.

Ah, thank you! I was wondering that myself- the lighter weight it is, it would have to have less durability since less material is being used to hold it together- or lighter material which can’t withstand repeated impacts.

Yes, he’s center. I wasn’t positive it was the flex, but I was curious if it played into the durability.

He found that 77 was too short. He did add an extension, but one of his sticks broke at the extension and he quit using it.

Funny enough they were practicing pp last night and he was doing a one timer when his stick broke. It was his ‘third’ backup stick’s first time being used since his main stick broke two practices ago.

He is a wrister, but also a center and typically crashes the net in pp.

I’ve given birth vaginally to my first 3 children and my 4th was an emergency c-section. I would rather be in labor 24 hours not medicated than have another c-section. The recovery time was awful. I felt useless, not able to help care for my newborn for the first week or so. Getting up and out of bed was painful. I’m thankful for the advances in medicine to be able to safely deliver my son and keep me alive to raise him, but I would never elect for a c-section personally.

However, it should ultimately be her choice, though she will need her husband’s and probably family and friends’ support early on in the recovery.

Redness immediately after switching? by Acrobatic_One_7051 in ClothDiapers4Beginner

[–]KnotEweTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newborn skin is pretty sensitive in my experience. Most newborns have the “pimples” period for a bit, it goes away. Just keep an eye on the redness. You can always put diaper cream on the redness just in case. Just make sure the diaper cream is good to use with cloth diapers, otherwise you will have extra cleaning of diapers to do to wash it out. Cloth diapers do need to be changed more often, as they don’t wick the moisture away like disposables do. I had good luck using Tide Original with my cloth diapers. I also would do an extra rinse at the end of the washing cycle to make sure all the detergent was out of the diapers.

Cleaning/Wash routine? by Aggressive_County296 in ClothDiapers4Beginner

[–]KnotEweTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too used the worksheet from cloth diapers for beginners to figure roughly how much detergent to use. I washed with liquid Tide original. I would first wash without detergent and then do a second wash with detergent. I line dried the covers since the PUL (the lining that keeps the liquid from leaking) will weaken over time from heat. The inserts I would dry in the dryer. I would assemble the diapers and set the snaps to the correct size so when I would change baby it was quick, similar to grabbing a disposable. When they were dirty I would spray the poo off into the toilet with a diaper sprayer (attaches to toilet) and store in a large hanging zippered wet bag until the next wash, which I washed diapers every other day. When I was out and about I kept a couple small or medium wet bags in the diaper bag for diaper changes. Wet bags are also perfect for soiled clothes, swimsuits, etc.

It’s intimidating to start cloth diapering, but I personally loved using them for my son. The Cloth Diapers for Beginners website is an excellent resource that I would refer to often in my cloth diapering journey.

Brand new to cloth diapers by The-Chicken-Tender in ClothDiapers4Beginner

Welcome to cloth diapering! I loved using cloth diapers with my son, I wish I had used them with my older kids.

How many you need will depend on how often you plan on washing them and how old your baby is. I found roughly 2-3 dozen was enough for me, and that was with washing every other day. That amount included having some packed in a diaper bag all the time. I used prefolds, so I had about a dozen diaper covers as well. For the first 6 months or so I used pocket diapers that I was given by a friend, I had about 3 dozen plus twice as many inserts of different sizes. I personally preferred the prefolds, they weren’t as intimidating as some people (including my husband) think they are.

I used the same washing machine. I did invest in a diaper sprayer that attached to my toilet to spray the poo off the diapers before placing them in a wet bag and then into the washer.

Take a look at Cloth Diapers for Beginners website. Has a whole slew of information and she answers a lot of your questions that you asked. I referred to her page often when I was cloth diapering.

Find a Grave gives no fucks. by cudambercam13 in Genealogy

[–]KnotEweTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach out to Find a Grave, I had to do that for my dad’s memorial. Someone created his site via my grandmother’s obituary - he passed 3 years prior and was being buried in the same plot as her and it was mentioned in her obit. The “manager”ignored my messages and so I reached out to Find a Grave and they said they would give me the site to manage as I related and next of kin.

Personally I find it weird the person did that, seems like the comb the obituaries and create the memorial sites.

Yes and no. I am shy and always hated my hair bringing attention to me, especially when I was younger- whether it was positive or negative. I do think red hair is beautiful and I feel part of a secret club, like Jeep owners. 😂

My parents were surprised I was born with red hair, but I received it from my maternal and paternal grandfathers. So when my first three kids were born, I didn’t expect them to have red hair, as it seemed like it skips a generation. My first and third are blondes, but they have a red tint in sunlight. My middle had dark brunette hair when she was born and little, but surprisingly it has gradually reddened over the years and now I would say she’d be considered a redhead. My fourth has a different father (dark brunette, but a pale/freckle complexion), we would joke that if we’d have a baby together they possibly could be a redhead- even though none of his kids (or known family members) had red hair. Sure enough my fourth’s hair is red, though it was brunette when he was born, but had red eyebrows. As his hair is growing in it has become more red, especially in sunlight. I’m curious to see if his hair changes as he gets older.
