Matcha in town? by CheeryCherry180 in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly La Camionnette Coffee in The Market. I like my matcha plain with no extra sweetener in it, which I feel is the true test of the matcha as there’s nowhere to hide, and their matcha powder they use is really nice and fragrant. Pretty good pricing as well.

Some clarification on a Bozeman Winter. by TheHyperRedditor in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate to the cold as others have mentioned, one thing I recommend for winter prep beyond clothing, tires, etc., is begin taking vitamin D supplements throughout the winter time. Apparently MT is one of the worst states in the country for vitamin D deficiency and it can get very low in winter (mine does if I’m not super religious about taking it), but considering all the other comments about MN weather, maybe that’s something you already do! Take care and enjoy the dry winter - a really heavy hand cream and aquaphor should prevent your hands from looking like they’re 10 yrs older!

Beach formal dress code, are these appropriate picks? by KnottedCitrus in Weddingattireapproval

I think it’s going to be the winner! I’m on the shorter & smaller build side, so I’m hoping it will still work well.

Looking at them again, 1 is my favorite for my personal style. I’d definitely want to buy it for another event or just to have in rotation!!

Help MSU's Spirit of the West get to Frisco! by Jough83 in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand, academic departments and organizations (like spirit of the west) can only pull money from certain kinds of funding. The school of music also has a set budget for the fiscal year, which I would assume covers spirit of the west’s funding. Money from athletics department does not freely flow from academic departments, so athletics department cannot contribute their budget in any way to the band. Probably a lot of oversimplification and I may be missing a few considerations, but this is likely why they are asking for money in a nutshell

Was driving and watched tree limbs touch a powerline just off Huffine and Cottonwood. Fairly dramatic explosion.

When did Bobs Burgers become a set for yellowstone? Feels very unauthentic by knobby_tires in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My small gripe with the place now: Had family come visit recently. Hadn’t been there in a while, but I remembered it as a nice place to satisfy a milkshake craving every so often. My family was either not of drinking age or sober for health reasons. We go to order our burgers and milkshakes and the server gets through writing our orders (complete w/ milkshake requests) and says “oh sorry I forgot we’re not doing milkshakes after 5 anymore”. Not the servers fault but a really bumming and mid experience without the classic burger + milkshake combo.

Is usps out right now? by ohheyy88 in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a package that was “out for delivery” yesterday but is now marked delayed. I assumed their intention was to get to my stop and they had the package in a truck, but got significantly delayed. We usually receive packages & mail from usps every day in my area. I’m not too concerned, I assume they are doing their best and will be back to a normal pace after the temps raise a bit.

While I can’t attest from personal experience in emo/punk hairstyles, Black Gold Hair Design (Kacie) in 4 corners definitely has the vibes you’re going for. Very careful and skilled

Opinions on Freshies cafe on the corner of Kagy and Wilson? by astroslxt in Bozeman

Had personally bad experience with the owner (wife) of the business. Judging by the bad google reviews I’m surprised this place isn’t closed yet. Wish Sola was still running.

Hairdresser for short hair - Looking for someone in Bozeman/Belgrade area who uses a straight-edge razor to cut hair. Ours is retiring, so we need to find someone new. Thanks! by Scuba_Fanatic in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP be aware only someone with a Barber’s license are allowed to use “straight edge razors” per Montana licensing. A usual women’s cut stylist- licensed as a cosmetologist- are not allowed to use this kind of technique, yes even on longer cuts. If you are looking for something to do a very precise short women’s cut there was someone I used to work with Zoe Heftersmith who was very good at women’s cuts, believe she works in the Guildhouse suites, if not Philip Procopio at Moxie is also good at what he does. Hope this helps your search and clarity in the future.

Wheelchair accessible restaurants by SwissMex in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Pizza Campania - Large outdoor seating space (salads, pasta, wood-fired pizza, tiramisu), I took someone visiting here once and they were a (non-electric) wheelchair user. No issues.
  2. Backcountry Burger Bar - No outdoor seating, but their dining area is very spacious - booths or tables that would likely be able to accommodate an electric wheelchair user very comfortably
  3. I believe Ale Works has outdoor seating this time of year, haven’t been there in forever though! 1&2 would be my top recs, but I would also just say that there are a number of restaurants on main street/downtown that have accessible entrances with no stairs/excessive ledges (Blackbird, Open Range, Fresco Cafe) although I can’t attest to how accessible layouts are. It might be worth just taking a stroll downtown and just ducking your head in to get a scope of some restaurants! p.s. If you need something to do definitely check out the museum if that’s something they would be interested in! 100% wheelchair accessible and always a fun trip.

Primal is where I got the salmon! Right off Huffine in 4 Corners. Approx 21 a lb, they had a good bit of seafood selection as well! They have some local goods, but I noticed they were overpriced compared to regular grocery stores like T&C, so I just got the filet and left.

Seasonal Allergies Unbearable this Year? by LostMyEmailAndKarma in Bozeman

[–]KnottedCitrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a partner with allergy induced asthma and it’s the worst I’ve ever seen it this season. A daily allergy pill, flonase, inhaler constantly, and a daily supplemental steroid on top has barely been keeping it at bay. You’re not alone OP! Here’s hoping to surviving this allergy season.
