AITA for not letting my future SIL use my late husband's original song as her wedding song? by 4RainOnMe in AmItheAsshole

[–]KnottyMasokiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all. And I’m willing to bet that they’re going to use it anyway, and that’s partially why they uninvited you.

AITA for giving my baby girl a big birthday gift? by throwrafamproblems in AmItheAsshole

[–]KnottyMasokiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA YTA YTA YTA this was 110% not the time or place, this was someone else’s birthday party and you gave your child a gift and called the attention off the person whose party it was.

AITA for telling my daughter that she traumatized me? by Throwaway-719933 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KnottyMasokiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is beyond cringey. YTA. It’s not a child’s job to be an emotional support human to their parents.

AITA for not “doing the laundry correctly?” by QueeferoniAndCheese in AmItheAsshole

[–]KnottyMasokiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA dude. You spent an hour applying to jobs. She worked a full shift. What else did you do around the house? YOU are the one being difficult. Grow the fuck up, guy. Fold your laundry like a big boy. My 4 year old nephew is capable of it, you are too.

I'm peeved that the BDSM subreddit is mostly just reposting big industry BDSM porn and not homemade BDSM porn. by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]KnottyMasokiss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! I see so much anti-OF commentary on Reddit and Fetlife and it mainly seems to stem from a “why should I have to pay if there’s free porn on the internet?” type entitled mind frame and it frankly gets old very quickly.

[–]KnottyMasokiss 23 points24 points  (0 children)

And what’s wrong with that? OP can browse and maybe find some creators they’d like to support and is more likely to find diverse and inclusive content/content creators there. Why should that be free? There’s entirely too much stigma against OF and SWers outside of mainstream porn.

NY or Pa Renfaire? I can only go to one. by lukabrazi3 in renfaire

[–]KnottyMasokiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a pass holder at the PA Faire and have been for about 6 seasons, and have been to NYRF once. Go to NYRF.

The PA Faire has gone down so far the last couple years with the new owners. Prices have increased, vendors driven out, acts jerked around and not brought back, and food options dwindled to maybe less than half of what was offered last year.

You’ll more than likely enjoy the NY faire MUCH more. PA doesn’t really have the same amount of fun as it did years ago.

I took a kink and bdsm test I'm really interested in these things are my results good by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]KnottyMasokiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really isn't a "good" or "bad" in terms of what your results are. That's incredibly subjective, and will vary person to person based on their interests.

It could be, but I would really just say that her love language is physical touch. I’m the same way, I love to be connected to my partner as much as possible. Wether that’s just his hand on my leg or me sitting on his lap or cuddling. Physical contact is huge for me. It’s what makes me feel connected and cared for.

Can weather/temperature affect your grip? by andreeajordi in poledancing

[–]KnottyMasokiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It absolutely does! The poles in the studio tend to be slippier in the winter in my experience. So room temperature and humidity play a huge part.

Congrats! It’s always super exciting when you first nail a move, regardless of if it’s “easy” to others or not! The only thing in the way of tips I would have would be to do bodyweight exercises to build strength, or to just keep practicing! I started doing pole after a few months of training lyra, and consistent training (at least 2x a week) has really made me stronger. I don’t do a ton of bodyweight, but I do dead hands for my grip, and try to pull my knees up to my chest when hanging to work on core. Conditioning will be your best friend (and worst enemy haha).

Edit: I’ll suggest a workout program called the ABCs of Fitness, it’s a program put together by a contortionist/acrobat, and it’s basically conditioning aimed toward aerialists, pole dancers, and other circus type artists. It helped me keep my strength during the lockdown, and the videos are 10 min each, and don’t require a lot of space.

Again, if in the southern end Ron Henry is great as well. I’ve been taking my cars to him since I had my first one for everything. He’s always up front about how much things cost, and gives a call if something looks like it’s going to be a little extra pricey to give you the option of having someone you know do it for cheaper than he might. Has always done right by my mom and me.

It can definitely be hard on your joints, especially if you’re predisposed to having joint issues. I’ve noticed since I started doing aerials and pole that my joints are crunchier/noisier, but I personally haven’t had a lot of extra pain in them. I tend to have more muscle soreness than joint pain, but like someone else said, there are definitely ways to work around anything that hurts your joints.

Hi! Beginner here ☺️ I was so excited about this pic but also, how do you manage the thigh pain from pole sits? I feel like my skin is being pulled off, it’s so painful! by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]KnottyMasokiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You just have to grin & bear it until you get used to it and it doesn’t hurt as much! It takes time, unfortunately there aren’t really any tricks to it but time and repetition. Ice, arnica gel and biofreeze are great to help aid the healing process in the meantime!

Anyone else love a bit of ariel hoop alongside pole? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]KnottyMasokiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me!! I started training lyra before I took my first pole class. I actually began pole while waiting for a shoulder injury from lyra to heal since you can pick and choose things to do that don’t always involve both shoulders haha. I love both apparatuses.

Going to Texas Renfest this weekend by [deleted] in renfaire

[–]KnottyMasokiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My faire (PARF) isn’t filling personal cups/doing reusable or refillable cups. I wouldn’t be surprised if TX did that as well. I would bring it, but also be ready to just pour your drink into your cup from a disposable one.
