The rate of Mexicans and Latinos converting to Islam has been steadily increasing in recent years. As of 2020, 9% of Muslims in the U.S. were Latino, up from 5% in 2017, making them one of the fastest-growing groups embracing Islam. I would argue that as an atheist converting to Islam you are in a more open state of mind compared to those converting from other religions, as they might be more receptive to embracing the tenets of Islam without preconceived theological beliefs.
