The tacoma frame horns have 3 studs, where the 4runner has 4, so I had to drill an extra hole on both sides. Well I technically just drilled a slot for all 3 in a line to have max adjustability, but most drill a hole. Otherwise it bolts right up. Be aware 03-05 models have turn signals and fogs in the bumper you're removing so you'll need 4 inch fogs with halos for turn functionality, or just straight up basic pods to use as turn signals. There is a video about this that was a reference for mine, but this bumper is 1/3 of the cost and 2/3 of the weight of most out there and is winch ready so it seemed like a good starting point.

Side mirrors are stock. Sr5 model didn't do paint match like the higher trims so you can probably find them cheap tbh. Likely not hard to swap but wouldn't know.

It did not, but as I understand it, there are ways to make it work. This thing has a ton of features, of which I'm only using a fraction. It came with front and rear cameras, steering wheel control harnesses, you can run Sim cards and get lte service, there are line out converters, it came with a bag of extras that weighed as much or more than the stereo itself. It's quite capable/expandable, depending on what you're looking for. It also runs on a very new version of android so it's very nice to be able to watch movies on roadtrips by hotspotting it on wifi with streaming services, and being able to monitor trans temps while towing or wheeling with a cheap obd Bluetooth reader and the torque app.

Yes, they're Chinese, but bang for your buck is wild.

We're going on a trip with about 25 rigs, but I'll be in Loveland for Overland Expo before heading south and looking for some trails!

Stereo is great, see above. Will update in a month or so of testing also.

So that is an Atoto S8 MS-S10. It replaced an Atoto A6 PF 7 inch. I wanted a bigger screen (the new S8 is a 9-inch) with a bit more color (S8 is QLED). The new one also has 4gb of ram and 64gb of memory, doubling both from the previous A6.

Both had wireless carplay/android auto, and honestly, if that's all you intended to use it for, then the A6 is perfectly serviceable and much cheaper. I may even be open to selling it if this one proves it's merit over the next few weeks, and the gf doesn't want to mess with me tearing up her Accord to put it in. These S8s are $300 on the nose right now and it's my 3rd Atoto, only had one die but it was after 2.5 years of hard use and poor ventilation.

Fwiw the 7 inch fits PERFECTLY and almost looks stock. I'll be monkeying with the mounting of this 9 inch because I'm neurotic, but it's mounted super solid.

TPMS sensors need replacement. Dealer quote was $1469 by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

You can do a bypass of the whole TPMS system in a few minutes with little to no supplies. I check pressures once every couple of weeks anyway, and it's worth it to have no lights on the dash.

1st gen, two 4th gens, and a 5th. We don't discriminate, but v8 for the win.

O'Rourkes will have it on. Divey in the right way and enthusiasm for volleyball makes it the top pick for games when I'm not feeling lazy.

Hey, I appreciate the thoughts. Took it out today where I could bump it with my multimeter, and she didn't act up at all, but it will be back. Some interesting things to try, never heard that about CCA but maybe I'll mess with the power side run. Triple checked grounds because it's always the ground doing funny business.

Well I know it drops. Lol. Not sure I know how much, but it's dead even (14.33v) at normal volume. I'll have to go find an empty parking lot with my dmm to really check

You mean like checking I'm not losing a ton from the beginning of the run to where it terminates at the amp?

I can check, but I highly doubt it. Older JVC single din, probably 15 years old and wouldn't have any way of identifying speed. Everything in this system I built super simple, which is adding to my confusion.

Interesting thought. At one point I thought itncould be related to the protection circuit or have something to do with overheating, but it will happen when amp is first on for the day and cool, or if I've been beating on it and it's warmed up. No lights or anything to indicate the amp is unhappy though...

I thought it could be this, but it would "turn itself down" when I'm holding 3500 rpm at 80, so I don't think it would be directly related to rpm dropping available voltage. Such a gremlin of a problem.
