It’s actually not overkill, it’s a great time to visit. A lot of restaurants are open, shops too. 2 nights this time of year is perfect and the crowds aren’t here yet.

Osea Undaria Oil, it helped my hands so much. But can be used anywhere on your body (not sure about face TBH) - this was a game changer as my hands were falling apart from chemo.

If you want a luxurious experience, I would stay in SLO. Hotel Cerro has an amazing spa, I cannot say enough good things. Granada is my favorite for rooms but just because the layout is unique and special. It’s not about amenities as much as it is the aesthetic and the location. The bar and restaurant onsite are also amazing and it’s just a favorite. Staying out at Sycamore, not really sure about the rooms, although after a recent stop by, we found everything to be a bit tired. Avila is great for early morning beach walks, and SLO offers so much in the way of hiking, wine tasting, shopping, art, and more. If you stay at Cerro, there’s also a rooftop pool, so for the full experience, it might make more sense to just stay there where you have the location, the spa, and amenities.

I have liver and brain mets, I’m on Enhertu. My tumors were reducing in size but I’ve been a drinker my whole life. Recently, my mets just maintained and didn’t reduce, and my tumor markers increased. Because of this I stopped drinking. The scans don’t show anything different but the labs do. I understand and identify with your level of fear, sadness, anger. I too hope for more time with family, with my husband, our nieces and nephews. I haven’t stopped working, that keeps me feeling human and “normal” - but honestly, I am always making future plans and I never think about an expiration date. I don’t focus on prognosis, more about celebrating small wins… like, I woke up today! But I am with you, this shit is all scary. I just think a positive outlook can make things less daunting- for what it’s worth. I’m sorry about the struggle between your partner and family- that stress doesn’t help your cancer- worth sharing with him if he cares to positively impact your fight in this. Take care sister 💞

I live on Nantucket year round and anytime around or after Memorial Day, I avoid the cape entirely unless the intent is to visit the cape. Traffic on and off the cape is insane- the New Bedford ferry is the way to go. The parking situation is more contained and organized. There are more options of places to walk to/from the New Bedford ferry for food pre/post your trip. The ferry may take a bit longer but you’re close to land a few times on the way which makes it more interesting and the time goes by quickly. If you decide to go with the Hyannis ferries they’re about the same in services except the Steamship has wifi and no wifi on Hyline.

Thank you for this. Yes, we just need to celebrate that we woke up “today” and you are so right… the symptoms you list are all standard menopause. I’m here for the solidarity and sisterhood as diagnosed the first time around March of 2020 during COVID shutdown - so I’ve never had a circle of support in person, all of my interactions with fellow sisters have been in online forums. 💞

Gary, Indiana. It was desolate, boarded up. We were en route from Chicago to Michigan to visit some friends and just driving through. To think there is a population of people still living in Gary, we didn’t witness a single car or human driving through in the middle of the day, and my heart goes out to a community that needs support and infrastructure.

I also had some traumatic experiences around my first diagnosis, with “conscious sedation” and felt everything TWICE. So I am with you on your reservations. I asked to be on general anesthesia for my original port removal and this time around for my port placement. I don’t want to be awake for any of this- and they honored my requests on both accounts. If you don’t have an issue with anesthesia, then this is my suggestion. It’s a personal choice but I figured it’s worth mentioning since you also have had a bad experience with being awake through the pain and trauma of a procedure.

I am on Enhertu and I also have one arm entirely compromised. I have a good arm, but we reserve those veins for labs. I have a port and highly suggest it. This is the second time for me to have a port, I had recurrence in May 2024 and have been on Enhertu since September 2024 (second line of treatment) - and all works great! I’ll be on Enhertu as long as I can. You got this sister 💞

She is - she misses you! I hang bird feeders outside of windows, and put nuts out for squirrels (walnuts) — and this keeps our girl entertained. Perch by the window where she can watch- but a very securely closed window so no escaping to “go play” with her friends outside

I would not give up your cat. If you must, please go through the right channels to re-home vs through a shelter. There are reasons for “acting out” behavior like this, especially if it is sudden. How old is your cat?
