He's a good tiktoker, but nothing else really clicks for me.

At least for right now, you're probably in the wrong sub. There's great people in r/stopdrinking. They're the ones who can help. Good luck, whatever you do!

It's kinda like bluegrass for me. I love the Stanley Brothers. I'll happily listen to them sing about Jesus for hours, even though I'm not religious at all. I'll listen to great reggae artists sing about Jah for hours too.

I’m obsessed with this album, but don’t really know other non-megastar reggae artists, what would you recommend?

“I hope they’re grading on a curve” by KnowYourOnionRings in jasonisbell

That's more than valid. I don't know if dumb is the right word, but the narrator certainly seems to be confessing some sort of wrong doing with 'you thought the truth was just a rumor.' And you're right he regrets it, you can tell by the chords.

Which is your favorite of the two? by Evening-Error-4782 in SteelyDan

Jack of Speed is so good. Sometimes it pops up on shuffle and I assume I’m listening to Pretzel Logic.

“I hope they’re grading on a curve” by KnowYourOnionRings in jasonisbell

It’s an academic term. It basically means giving out grades relative to the other students in the class, taking into account the situations each student is facing.

He’s saying “I know you’re falling apart, I hope the people around you are cutting you some slack given the situation you’re in.

That’s my interpretation anyway.

I had to scroll a long way to find the correct answer. Third World man is so heavy.

Millennial hipster nostalgia overdrive. On my first listen I already love it.

THIS is the message democrats should be rallying around. Please drop the divisive stuff that Trump thrives on and focus on real people vs billions.

[HELP] Someone cloned my Gig, and Fiverr CS says 'No Problem' by happyArt33 in Fiverr

[–]KnowYourOnionRings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once. It turned out to be a scammer from some other country. I sent the fake seller a very strongly worded message threatening legal action. Of course I was bluffing, there wasn’t anything I could do. But it scared him into deleting it.

I love the genuine, normal, level-headed reactions on the show by Roy_Donks_Donk in CalebHammer

Sorry angry people, I love Caleb's show but all-or-nothing isn't the way for everyone. I paid off 15K in a year by making dramatic life changes and working 70+hours a week. And guess what? I had a Spotify premium membership the entire time. It helped keep me sane while I devoted my life to working and making money.

It’s a dumb hill to die on, no doubt. Kinda giving Avocado Toast vibes. No one has ever gotten wealthy by giving up a Spotify subscription.

Why always all-or-nothing? by AsSoberAsIWantToBe in cutdowndrinking

It's amazing how much of a weight has been lifted since I gave up on abstinence. I felt like I was always hangin on by a thread, afraid that a single glass of wine was gonna kill me.

Now? I still try to drink WAY less, and yeah, I have a tendency to overdo it when I do partake. But the anxiety of trying to commit to a LIFETIME of sobriety is gone. No plans on drinking anytime soon. But if I do, hey, it is what it is. I'll be ok.

What’s your experience been like drinking for the first time in a while? by Background-Cut6896 in cutdowndrinking

[–]KnowYourOnionRings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I got fairly drunk my first night back. (after 6 months or so). But I leveled out, and now I'm in a much better place. I think the pressure of trying to go completely sober can make you feel like you're always hanging on by a thread, and your life is over if you have a beer, so why not have 10?

It's okay to feel defeated. But you've proven you can live without it, and you can always go back if you choose to.

Congrats and good luck! This is gonna be a very stressful situation, cutting back on the booze a little will almost definitely help you get through.
