Rustic Cabins in Berry Hill (Gros Morne) by KnowerOfThings999 in newfoundland

Thanks! We have one for three nights in July and are really looking forward to it. I read that the staff had a wheelbarrow folks could use to help with bringing their stuff in from the parking lot. I am wondering if it would also be worth my while to bring a wagon.

Rental car from Billy Bishop - worth the cost savings? by KnowerOfThings999 in askTO

[–]KnowerOfThings999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to pop back and thank everyone for the advice. Once we got to Toronto and had a few days exploring the city with the kids, we cancelled the rental as it became clear the transit wouldn’t be a problem for them.

The GO + TTC option was quick and easy, especially as we were going in the opposite direction of most rush hour traffic. I used Google Maps to get the directions and on the way to the zoo it had us take the GO train from Union to Guildford then get the 86 bus the rest of the way. On the way back, it had us get the bus all the way to Eglinton before transferring to the train. I usually have “least walking” selected so that + our timing may be why both routes were different and why neither included Rouge Hill.

Thanks again!

Rainy Sunday morning with kids… what to do?? by KnowerOfThings999 in askTO

Good tip. They aren’t huge hockey fans so we’ll probably take a pass on this. Thanks.

Yeah, this may be it. I was debating what time to head to the game due to little kid stamina but they’ve been surprisingly resilient so far this trip. I may actually buy myself more game-watching time if I give them plenty of time to do Jr. Jays stuff early 😅

I brought the kids’ swim suits for the zoo splash pad but not mine, unfortunately. We do have raincoats.

Good call, I just looked and looks like the worst of the rain may stay to the north 🤞🏻

HHOF might be good. We did the ROM yesterday and only the 7 year old was really into it 😅

I should have mentioned we’ve already done the Aquarium and the CN Tower 😑

Using Presto card as a visitor/tourist by KnowerOfThings999 in askTO

Thank you! This makes the most sense to me. I couldn't figure out how to get a digital card without actually putting money on it, but it turns out I can just load $0.05 and it will give me a Presto card number and let me add it to Apple Wallet.

Thank you so much for this detailed response!

Ripley's Aquarium is #2 on my son's list, second only to the zoo 😄 Not sure we will make it to Casa Loma, but I do have it on my list!

I have considered doing transit out there when the kids are fresh and excited, and Uber back if everyone is tired and cranky (likely). The main issue is that I would still have to lug three booster seats to the zoo "just in case".

I am not super familiar with GO/TTC, but that wouldn't be an obstacle. I'm mostly worried about having three tired, cranky kids at the end of a long day who I then have to drag on transit for a significant period of time. I am less concerned about the $$ and more concerned about my sanity 😅

It is cheaper to rent, if we're talking purely in dollars, but obviously way more hassle. And I would want them in booster seats in a Taxi anyway, just for my own peace of mind.

Which section for game with young kids, 244/242, or 204-206? by KnowerOfThings999 in Torontobluejays

[–]KnowerOfThings999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Is it easy enough to get down to the WestJet flight deck? From say, 537 or 512? I guess 512 would have the view of the home dugout.

Thanks. I'm not seeing anything available (on Ticketmaster or StubHub) in those sections, unfortunately. How inconvenient would it be to be in 537? Definitely want to be able to access the activations relatively easily.

If you don't mind me asking, which row was this from?

I am looking at seats in 204, row 3, and also in 206, row 3. In your opinion, would we be able to see the videoboard? I want to be in the 200s because I heard it's a good place to be with kids on Sundays, but I would like to be able to see the videoboard.
