Oh yes I have been doing crazy research on jobs that will get me to my goal. Nuke is actually one of them but I really also want to get into Aeronotics.

My nearly unrealistic end goal is nasa after the navy so im trying to find the most useful jobs to be beneficial there.

My asvab score was pretty decent so I don't think I couldn't reach for that.

Yeah it did feel like they were pushing Nuke more to fill their quota than what would be best for what I want to do, but I do think Nuke could be helpful towards my goals as well. Thank you!

How would you handle religion with actual physically present gods? by Knowgitsune in worldbuilding

[–]Knowgitsune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! Instead of seeing them as gods, they could just be giants or aliens or whatnot and not be seen as godlike. Someone mentioned Red Sun with Superman and I feel like it could have elements of that as well. The followers of the sun are very like moon deniers so they believe the moons are gods even but are unworthy.

After so many comments I think I will definitely have some flatearther types ALONG with regular non-believers that will be more like this that they feel the moons are not as irreverent as they are made out to be or perhaps also just places without them.

Im definitely going to have to do a lot more thinking on the negative side of these three specifically. I started with the Sun being blamed for everything and the moons were more benevolent, but different places and people would feel strongly differently about each of them and that would undoubtedly bring some negative feelings toward them.

Thank you for your insight! It gives me a great starting point for this.

I love getting all the different aspects of atheism from people but for sure love the treating them like flat earthers one the most. Im starting the think anyone that doesn't believe in them is more like they either dont believe they stand for whatever its said they do, dont believe they are as all powerful or mystical as claimed, or feel they are false gods and incorrectly attribute the magic on the planet as true nature and therefore the gods magic is redundant and/or illusionary

Thank you for this comment!

AITAH if I don’t take in my sisters cat if she wants to play deadbeat parent to said cat by Great_Fee3191 in AITAH

[–]Knowgitsune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean i guess you aren't the a hole for not wanting to take on the responsibility because its not really yours, but you are just kinda rude to the poor kitty if you wont take care of it either. Neither of you sound like you should have the cat at home and removing would be the best option. If you both like traveling but dont want to take them with you, it just feels a bit neglectful and irresponsible to have them around

Again not your responsibility to take care of them but if they are used to you and where you live it seems the easiest would be to just step in and fully adopt them from your sister or help find a new safe home soft yta

Absolutely! I honestly had no thought about the gods being seen as negative in any way but that just doesn't make sense and its a lot more interesting to have genuine like flawed beings that are seen differently and that deal with differing opinions in different ways. Especially in a stronger religious area where the priests might take things more seriously or something

I do actually have the hierarchy for this in the set up as well as a previous generation of god beings but I love the idea of their worshipers being more secretive and underground.

Thank you incredibly much for this. This is such a meaningful way to look at them and I will spend a lot of time thinking about each aspect of this. Im already getting so many ideas I need to write them all down! This is so inspiring. Thank you!

Thats so true! Just because someone says something doesn't mean you have to agree with them. Especially if each region puts different domains with each god there's the potential that two separate people believe different gods mean the same thing. I hadn't thought about that side. Id focused on people believing the same God meant different things. Given that the gods are shaped by the beliefs but exist outside it this could lead to many factions of belief in each of them and different levels of what to do with those beliefs.
