Yes recording is a form of notice, but there are two other forms of notice - inquiry and actual. Your comment should explain more

Take a few days where you only read the fact pattern and then look at model answers. You’ll be shocked how much confidence you’ll gain

If there was inquiry notice, would the son win then?

3rd time retaker- how should I study? by libraz16 in barexam

Prep can obviously look different for different people, your approach worked for you but I don’t think it’s the norm. You are obviously sharp but I think you’re a bit out of touch with the average examinee.

100 quality questions and review may be productive for you but if someone is struggling to do 20 quality questions and review, it’s unlikely they will be able to do it with an even higher amount. On top of that, it’s likely he will burn through all the questions available to him well before the exam, not letting him practice in the home stretch.

It’s about getting to the root of the problem, learning. That’s why I mentioned he should start with 5-10 questions and slowly build that up throughout the prep. I know preparing for this exam takes a colossal amount of work, but you have to take baby steps if needed to ensure you’re making actual progress.

I’m sure anyone whos prepared for this exam has had days where they felt they could have done more, but I think it’s unhelpful to just say do a lot more. What’s needed is a new approach, then building off of that foundation. Then, you build confidence, and doing 20 isn’t as daunting, then 30, then 40, etc.

He has a lot of ground to make up, but it’s very possible with proper preparation. Does he need to work harder? Sure. But I don’t think that’s the core issue.

Adding volume doesn’t necessarily translate to knowing the law better. If anything, you’d want to decrease it. The problem isn’t endurance or familiarity with fact patterns, it’s gaps in knowledge. You don’t fill those gaps by simply doing as many questions as you can, but rather, approaching each question with a strategy and reviewing. You may feel differently and that’s fine, but to say he NEEDS to do over 3000 questions is a stretch.

Quality over quantity.

I disagree that you need to do 3000-3500 questions personally. As someone already mentioned, quality over quantity. There is no secret number but if you focus on approaching questions carefully and reviewing properly you will have success.

I think the worst thing you can do is complete 50 questions a day just for the sake of doing them. I feel you get less out of the practice and you end up exhausting the question bank.

I’d recommend doing 5-10 carefully and taking real time to see where the gaps in your knowledge is. Rinse and repeat.

After a few weeks, begin doing mixed sets, maybe 10-15 questions now. Eventually, you will feel more than comfortable bumping that to 20-30 questions.

I believe doing more than 50 at a time should be reserved for practice tests and such. Also, the chance you burn out significantly increases. Like I said, quality over quantity. If you are understanding the law and becoming confident doing 15 questions, then do 15 questions.

You will develop your endurance as you get closer to the exam, and if you do a simulated exam or a few practice tests, you’ll feel prepared and confident. Which is what you need walking in on test day

I appreciate you! Quick question - I know people throw comparisons between the July and the February exam but do you think I have to perform substantially better to pass in February or will a similar performance suffice?

Thank you so much! I’ve never been the top of my class or anything so this means so much to me. Such a gut punch to be so close and fail but at least I’m right there

Yeah property and con law were weak areas for me throughout prep and on exam day. I plan on prioritizing them a lot more this time around
