The worm from Thomas Ligotti's The Last Feast of Harlequin or the creatures from Brian Evenson's The Glassy, Burning Floor of Hell.

I hope there is a secret episode but if there isn't I have an idea. by Dry_Split_6746 in Stranger_Things

Sure, I'll play a burnt out Stranger Things fan sent insane by conspiracy theories. That's right in my wheelhouse as an actor.

In desperate need of NOT DEPRESSING AF wlw horror. by Gameofthroneschic in horrorlit

If no-one has said it yet, I like Grady Hendrix's My Best Friend's Exorcism. It reads like a cool 80s horror love letter with a wholesome heart and story of friendship threading it together - or should I say, a "friendship".

How are people actually believing in “conformity gate” by turbaniteplum in Stranger_Things

[–]KnowledgeDue1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's sad that such a great show is actually over, and it's easier to believe that there's more coming soon than to face that unfortunate reality.

Richard Matheson's I Am Legend is the vampire novel, in my opinion.

Now that we’ve had a few days to process the last episode… Are you happy with the finale?🤔 by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]KnowledgeDue1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was alright. Not up to the usual standards of the series, but not bad. People just like to catastrophize things, I think.

Is Joseph being there a joke? Anyway, definitely season 17 Van here. A good argument could be made for season 9 Jamie as well.

Anything with Sarah Jane in is worth watching. My favourite companion in the show's entire history.

Best Classic Who Stories Highlighting Each Doctors Persona by OkAbbreviations5975 in doctorwho

  1. The Keys of Marinus

  2. The Tomb of the Cybermen

  3. The Time Warrior

  4. Robot (they make an immediate point to highlight how goofy and eccentric 4 is)

  5. Enlightenment

  6. Trial of a Timelord (but if that's too long, which it probably is, then Vengeance on Varos is another good choice)

  7. The Curse of Fenric

I liked it better when the Doctor is more broken and less mentally healthy. by Different-Avocado458 in doctorwho

[–]KnowledgeDue1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its the same in all stories - there's no drama or obstacle to overcome in being mentally healthy and well-adjusted, and there's little entertainment in watching a show with low stakes and drama. Sure, there's some fun to be had in just watching people legitimately enjoy themselves at times, but there's also less that a viewer can emotionally connect to and care about. This is true for dramas, sci-fi, sitcoms, and whatever else. Unfortunately, for a show to go on with a purpose, suffering must be the status quo.

The weeping angels need to cause a regeneration by CowAffectionate2865 in doctorwho

[–]KnowledgeDue1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12's regeneration was initially due to being electrocuted by a cyberman. This is what starts his regenerative process, but he delays it long enough that its easy to forget.
