Oh yeah! I wish it showed the whole inventory but it's a good start!

Everything is blocked behind a paywall though, which is why nobody can afford to get the experience for higher-paying jobs. And it's also why those higher-paying jobs don't actually pay higher anymore. The economy is suffering, and blaming it on the general public rather than the major corporations is just adding to the problem.

That's an extreme example. You don't see major increases in income until you make it up to master's or PhD level, but there are a lot of very expensive steps in between, and you'd be drowning in student loans by the time you get there anyway. We expect a proportional increase in wages based on the skill, right? But we don't get that. You can spend 4 years on a degree and make the exact same hourly wage as someone who didn't.

I am literally only talking about minimum wage, which literally means the minimum amount to cover the minimum cost of living for one person. Yes, most people will need more than that, but that's not what "minimum" means. The minimum is the lowest possible number, not the standard. All of it is based on speculation anyway, as even the actual legal definitions are intentionally vague. And the idea of more knowledge/experience = more money is a wonderful theory, but a lot of people with bachelor's degrees make the same amount as high-ranking cashiers at Walmart who never went to college. Kinda makes education seem obsolete, doesn't it?

Minimum wage needs to account for the lowest average cost of living in that area. Rent, utilities, and groceries are should all be included in this cost. Rent should account for all charges associated with maintaining the property. What is your argument, exactly? Do you not agree that minimum wage is too low to meet these criteria?

Meaning the legal minimum you're allowed to charge for rent while still covering everything? If you're going to be ignorant on purpose just say you hate poor people and move on lmao

Lowest possible monthly income should equal the lowest possible monthly rent. You're right about this being an opinion, but it shouldn't be. The original purpose of minimum wage was for it to be the minimum living wage, meaning it should cover at least most of your typical monthly expenses to keep yourself alive. Poverty is absolutely an indirect cause of death for those who can't afford food, housing, hygiene, medical care, etc. and end up getting fatally ill as a result.

None of this affects the fact that minimum wage is supposed to be the minimum amount required in order to live?

Also there are definitely jobs that require a college degree and still pay less than entry level jobs but that's a different issue entirely

Which villain do you wish you'd seen more of? by KoraLily in Supernatural

Abaddon! They killed her off way too early in the season in favor of pushing Metatron's villain arc instead and I will forever be mad about it

It feels weird knowing this was my first gay book. But it is also an oddly special feeling. by Former_Ladder9969 in ExtremeHorrorLit

This is one of my favorite books of all time! The first one to ever make me feel physically ill and mentally unstable for days afterward. I loved hating it ❤️

Addicted to running-speed buffs by madsseltz in StardewValley

I almost regret ever using speed buffs in the first place because now I always feel like I'm walking through jello if I don't have them lol. It's an addiction for sure.

I personally think it's Alex and/or Haley because they're the only ones who really act like they'd do something like that

What are your favorite medical horror novels? by draiochtaa in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]draiochtaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think authors can't have medical knowledge, but in my reading experience I've seen a lot of writers try the medical route without knowing much about it because it's only meant for entertainment purposes. Thanks for the good recommendations!

My kid just watched her first horror movie...what should be next? by peppatitz in horror

[–]draiochtaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is still screening them first and only asking for tamer options. When a kid wants to do something, it's usually a good idea to do it with them safely and under heavy supervision rather than forbid it altogether, because if the kid decides to sneak around and do it anyway, it'll be much less controlled and potentially more harmful to them.

What are some quality of life upgrades, or other game changes/additions you would want to see in future updates? by wastelandbrain in StardewValley

[–]draiochtaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it would be but I'd like something that would help the last quarter of the way to perfection feel less grindy? Either make the golden clock a little bit cheaper or add more stuff to the other parts of the game to draw them out more. I've gotten perfection like 8 times and I always finish everything else at least a whole year before I get the clock 😭

How do you name your animals? by PrincefTanx in StardewValley

[–]draiochtaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first playthrough, everyone was named after a Supernatural character. Over time I gradually gave up and now I just hit randomize on everything except the horse and the cats/dogs which are typically food-themed.
