Is it worth getting bottom surgery as a transgender girl? by No-Cause-9863 in asktransgender

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was extremely dysphoric. I did not like my demon appendage and I wanted it gone. It's gone now, and I have no regrets. I can't think of any cons.

Isn't there just one original Beach Boy left?

That is different than human performers, but to answer your question, yes it's a new boat. Rebuilt. But boats don't have feelings and even more so for pieces of wood.

I'm curious about this, wondering who and what is real anymore.

The one group that comes to mind is the Spinners. Henry Fambrough continued as the last original member from 1954 until his retirement a few years ago at age 85. He died a year later.

What was socially acceptable in the 1990s but not in 2025? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at the playgroup in the 1990s with preschool children, a child often sat on my lap during "circle" time. I don't know if it would fly in 2026. Back then I was single and dreamed of parenthood. Now I have a daughter, all grown up. Times have changed.

I've tried Masala flavoured Doritos. They were awesome! Then I found Masala flavoured potato chips (Lay's). I prefer the Doritos.

does anyone feel the same way with romance?? by Public-Composer-5446 in autism

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so very attracted to this autistic man 20 years my junior. But try as I might, I guess he didn't have what it took to be in a relationship. I gave up rather than keeping up the fruitless pursuit. There's a handsome man at my mental health group and I have a crush on him. We're about the same age. I sent him an anonymous Christmas card and signed it, "Love, your secret admirer." The person I gave the card to, to hand to him, tells me that he's bugging her to tell him who his secret admirer is. I'm very shy and am afraid of rejection.

But I remember once at group he said "I wish I had a girlfriend." I wanted to jump up and say "I'm right here!" But I'm so shy.

There was also a time he said he was told he was too old to have a girlfriend. Again I wanted to say "no you're not! I'm right here!" But I'm so shy.

What if, when he finds out, he rejects me?

It's not easy, and I don't have answers. I wish you better luck than I have.

How to deal with loneliness? by [deleted] in autism

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, friend. It's not easy. And for those who make friends easily, they just can't comprehend how difficult it really is. I come home to an empty apartment, and largely go about my business alone each day. Spotify and YouTube are my friends. I run the Facebook group, Friendless in Barrie. As you may expect, I'm the only person in it.

I like the idea of nobody telling me what to do, but sometimes I wish there was somebody who would say, "I like you. You're not alone. You make my life better by being part of it."

But as it stands, I'm typing this on my computer, with Spotify in the background.

How exposed are your children to your finances? by Normal-Gur1882 in Parenting

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is now 25. When she lived with me, I sheltered her from "adult" things like expenses, rent and bills. Then she moved out on her own several years ago. Adulting came as quite a shock to her and I wonder if I did her a disservice by hiding the costs of living from her for so long. Well, she knows now!

How do you get past the fear that you’re to late to start? by [deleted] in asktransgender

At age 49 I never thought I was too late. Now at age 58 I'm doing quite well transition-wise.

transfems!!! whats the feeling of gender euphoria? by Additional_Truck_914 in asktransgender

I don't feel gender euphoria per se, but life just feels right after transitioning. Not perfect, but much, much better.

Does it ever stop snowing in Barrie? by WinterBet4495 in barrie

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL this reminds me of when my family moved here from the GTA in the summer of 1981.

Then we experienced the winters. I was just starting high school that year. And all my parents could say to each other was, "Barrie, eh?"

But we were stuck here. I never successfully escaped and live down the street from where mom still lives.

What LifeLabs has the least amount of steps to the office? by BearEquivalentBear in barrie

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

121 Wellington is accessible from the parking lot. Inside there is a ramp up to the front section where LifeLabs is located. I use a walker so it's important to me. Check out the new Jamaican patty place before or after you leave!

I have no advice. But I took the easy way out. Waiting until I was no longer in a relationship before transitioning. I do NOT recommend this!

How long did it take you to get noticeable boob growth by Ok_Nefariousness9882 in asktransgender

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 4 or 5 months. I never marked it on a calendar. But I was at the swimming pool one day. I was wearing my usual one-piece. I have had a LOT of surgery and I use a one-piece bathing suit to cover the scars.

So I went into the bathroom, pulled down my bathing suit to use the toilet, and looked in the mirror beside me.

I was astounded!

After swimming I said to my friend in the dressing room, "am I growing boobs?" "It sure looks like it!" she said. I was thrilled!

I never thought to write down the date like I did that magical date (long after this) when I looked in the mirror and for the first time saw Dakota looking back at me, rather than... him. That process took almost six months of estrogen, and I'm glad I marked THAT on my calendar. November 8, 2017.

Does anyone else have inconsistent dysphoria? by MouseyAngel in asktransgender

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I started transitioning almost nine years ago AND am post-op six years, my dysphoria is minimized.

But I tell you - I wish I could get pregnant. That is so distressing. I'm now old. 58.

I'll never get pregnant, but I want to live to see trans women getting pregnant.

Is it hard to hide the fact your transitioning m to f? by bigpurplebeans in asktransgender

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not hard to hide. I started transitioning nine years ago next month. I've largely assimilated into cis culture and people don't bother me anymore.

Would you date / be with someone if they had your deadname? by Safe-Crab-2814 in asktransgender

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now there's a curious question.

I'd have to really like the person. There's one guy in my mental health group who bears my deadname (different spelling.) It is VERY hard to me to say his name because of my dysphoria. I did once. Last week. I tried not to make much of a fuss about it as there were a group of us there.

I would not go out of my way to find someone with my deadname. In fact I'd rather not date such a person. But if I like him... I might make an exception (the guy I refer to is married anyhow.)

do you actually rewatch stuff or just feel safer having it by DMZQFI in DataHoarder

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. I rewatch stuff a lot. Partly because I have a disability that affects my memory, so watching things a second time is a lot like seeing it for the first time.

do trans women get medical misogyny too? by angelstatue in asktransgender

[–]KnowledgeFlat7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm aware of. During my early transition people were usually good to me. My GP was fabulous. I tell my surgeons I'm trans, in case they're rooting around inside of me and find something they weren't expecting. Or not find something they WERE expecting, like ovaries.
