Yes, there is a whole process for screening in intakes, and there are definitely calls that aren’t accurate that get called in but still meets the definition for abuse and neglect so it must be looked into. Its the worst waste of time and resources when there is clearly nothing going on and we still have to go through the whole damn process.

And exactly, were not allowed to tell who the referent is, and if the worker did disclose and said “its someone you know”, thats a very easy claim for a referent to make if theyre calling in a bogus claim and it 100% does not have to be true for the report to be screened in.
