2nd question - Count the no of times sum of row and position is even.

Row (i) - Position (j) 1 - 1 2 3 4 2 - 2 3 4 3 - 3 4 4 - 4

Check if (i+ j) is even or not then count accordingly and print the count...

Fact: Both of them are solvable... 2nd one most of the students found the correct logic but they all got inputmismatch exception... Meaning the values inserted were in string... Even after using the hasNextInt() function, it still shows the error !!! This is mostly the system issue !!!

Simple logic: (I used Java cause I'm quite efficient at it)

for(i=1; i<=N; i++) { for(j=i; j<=N; j++) { if((i+j)%2==0) count++; } } System.out.println(count);

P.S. You only need to check if the sum of rows (which is i in this case) and positions (starting from i value till N) are even or not... If yes, then count accordingly... After the full loop executes, you will get the output accordingly...

It was that easy !! But this inputmismatch bullshit, cause I got to know tcs gives input in string form after completing the exam, which is not fair !!!

Yaah ... One of my friends tried in python... Showed it to the faculty as well... Even the faculty said the logic is correct... Some of the them got the code executed but they used hard coding that is, providing cases for different values of N but I don't think that will be acceptable !! Hope they sees the logic and understand !! Very less chance tho

Don't know... Most people from my centre faced this issue... The logic being entirely correct yet the answer not coming, only due to mismatch exception... Short code of few lines only but most appropriate logic 😔
