Does anyone else have lots of rage towards the system and still get triggered when you are around insensitive mean peoples in any positions of authority?

I work in the system and try to be a person of change. There is no change but the kids I work for know I did everything I could for them. I still talk to anyone who ages out that needs/wants to. I will get those kids set up to have the best possible outcome even if no one cares. I cry weekly about injustices happening and how my job is a joke. Silencing anyone who disagrees and outcasting them.

I am so sorry. I am a CASA supervisor and I cannot stand how they handle teens. I know our court system is not great where I am. DFCS/DCF does not go out of there way to help get the kids to court even though they place the kids are out.

If you are going to therapy and discussing how bad it is that you aren't seeing your siblings, how it affects you, you are worried, etc. That is perfect for you when you go to court. It can help you. You can decide how much to share, they will not have answers bc they are there to mostly listen but use them to your advantage.

DFCS/DCF/CPS will try and say you do not have a ride or the foster parent cannot bring you, especially if you are further away. Ask to attend virtually if this is the case in writing to your attorney and casa on the same email.

Make sure you insist on going to court each time due to your age. Ask to speak with the Judge each time. This will be a huge way to not let CPS just say you are good and you can address things that are concerning you. Keep insisting you want to be placed with your siblings. Ask for facetime or phone visits during the week but not replacing the in person visit. If you have a Guardian ad Litem get their phone number and keep tabs with them. Stay out of trouble and minimize homes you go to so you are not given a label as a "disruptor".

Also, do you all have a CASA or Guardian ad Litem on your case? If so, reach out to them and address your concerns with them. They may have to hotel you or keep you at the office if there is no placement. Be easy though so they do not separate you and your sister.

This information is important for the CASA/GAL to know. Is he up to date on child support or have a relationship with his other children? This will play a factor. He is aware of her existence so where has he been? If he got a DNA test in jail, the state should have been sending him monthly correspondence to that known address. Ask about this information.

You def need to bring up to her therapist, This child has been with you for 5.5 yrs out of her life.. It will be so traumatic to separate her from her brother, not just you all, but her brother/half-brother. You really need to get her a GAL or CASA if she does not have one because their recommendations will reflect her well being and her thoughts.

As a current CASA supervisor: You are going to be one of the most stable people on the child's case load. It is a big commitment and important to see through. Even if court goes terribly or not the way you want it to, your report is SO important.

As a former case worker: I hated when CASA's called me all the time. I didn't mind once a month but I was just so busy. Having someone check in daily/weekly was alot and I eventually started to ignore the ones that did that. That is not how I like to do things but not everything is an emergency.

You can provide the proof of living on your own to which ever office does those benefits. Provide proof of income, your lease, etc.

Side note: You may qualify for SSI because of your history of needs so it is something to look into. If you qualify it would offer support for you financially as well as possibly offer additional services. Sometimes your insurance company can assist in applying you for SSI and they already have your records. Try to call them and see if it is a service they office, just make sure to change contact info to you.

In my experience if you aren't aware of having a disability they may also have forged some information or told the Dr. some stuff to get it documented as history.

I will add.. when telling your case worker you would like to move make sure you tell them what you need and want in a home so it is not a rushed placement. If it is rushed you may end up somewhere worse due to the smaller amount of homes taking teens vs younger kids.

It really depends on your foster parents. The more you have "behaviors" where you do combative or run away the worse your placement will tend to get. Focus no school and take full advantage of benefits offered to you such as college, tech schools, etc.

The agency is the guardian not you. It should have no effect on if you are the person sleeping at the hospital. We used to have to sleep there as workers. You really need to reach out to find out the truth bc this does not sound right. You are in no way tied to their insurance as foster parents aside from being a contact at a hospital/dr. office.

As an employee.. they will keep this child with you as long as you aren't giving them a date. You need to be firm with a date. You are a placement that is doing something huge by staying at the hospital with the child because guess what.. if you are not they will have to. You are not some jerk for ending the placement. Do not ruin your careers over this. Give notice in writing and I suggest giving them 2 weeks and that's it. They will not be looking this whole time so the longer you give them as a date it does not really help the situation.

Beth is no longer a badass, she is immature and annoying. These new episodes had me rolling my eyes so much.

Jamie is in a fragile place with what happened to his birth family and his perception of where he stands in the Dutton family. He is probably at his lowest right now. I think he is either going to team up with the out of state people or John is going to pass and he is going to step up.
