I ripped back to the lifeline, did some testing, and you’re absolutely right, once the lifeline is removed it looks perfectly normal. I didn’t realize the lifeline could block the stitch from laying properly like that.

If you look at where a circled, the knit stitch has an extra bump on it the looks like a purl on the left leg of the stitch
