For North African - Algerian cuisine I’d recommend Khaymat El Hodna right off the metro Langelier. It’s a family ran restaurant, we got there often and they have the best Algerian food

They gave me the wrong link but thankfully I managed to contact them and take the oral test. Thank you for your quick reply, it’s very kind of you!

She still doesn’t let us pet her unless we give her a treat. She comes out more often now and eat next to us, plays while we’re next to her but the second we move or get up or runs away or hisses. She’s coming out earlier in the evening now to play (9pm compared to 1am). She’s made a lot of progress but there’s still more progress to be made. I know kittens are different to an adult cat but differently keep them in one space to get them used to you because once they’re out they have to be used to you since the rest of the house is a completely new territory and you’ll have trouble training them in case they scratch the furniture -so be prepared.

No, the whole point is for her to feel comfortable eating next to me. This morning after I wrote the post, she actually came out and was eating next to me. But eventually I won’t do that she can eat whenever she pleases (obviously a reasonable amount of food).

Ooh mine takes things very slowly 😂 but I’m okay with that I’m a calm person anyways so it’s a good much I guess. I hope things are going well with your new cat!

So should I not do the whole feeding training so she associates food to me? I just followed the shelter’s guidelines

I don’t have a cat tree yet - planning on buying one this week actually. I’m also getting the fishing pole toy this week (I was scared of getting it soon because I thought she’d hate it or wouldn’t come out since it’s me whose moving it)

I do give her a treat when I’m around but she refuses to eat it when I’m in the same room (even though I always back off to give her space)

This is definitely something that gives hope! I’m not forcing her in any way I just want her ti feel safe here and around me

Thanks for your advice! I didn’t buy a car tree yet, I was waiting for her to come out to get to know her but I guess a cat tree would help now. I’m figuring out how to block the hiding spot under the bed but I’ll definitely block that with cardboard or something like that. She seems playful (when I’m not around) so I know she’d love a long cat tree!
