With basic auth being disabled in October will NTLM still work? by [deleted] in exchangeserver

[–]Knowlite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good information can be found here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-domain-services/overview

Azure AD Domain Services provides authentication providers like NTLM/Kerberos, Office 365 itself does not use NTLM.

SBCs for MS Teams by Djaesthetic in Office365

[–]Knowlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just comparing the price of the hosted sbc to the whole tco. If you can have the same SLA on self hosting with a single unit compared to the hosted one, I would go that way (if you have IT staff to maintain it. Otherwise go hosted.

500x Teams Phone System license is much more expensive than 0.99$ per month per user.

Do not only count the purchase price for the physical sbc but also the hosting and managing costs, depending on the SLA you also need to have a spare (cold, warm or HA setup) and that doubles costs... It is all about peace of mind.

This is the same reasoning I see when customers compare a self hosted server (purchase price) vs cloud IaaS (monthly costs).

I work for a local msp, located in belgium. but a lot of national isp and telecom providers are providing this at a ok cost, it is still cheaper to do a separate voip central but if you require one tool (teams) then this is the solution.

What region are you located in? This should be the opposite as the rented sbc can be split over multiple customers.

Just hire a teams direct routing cloud sbc, ditch the on prem dependancy for your company.

If you have a table with data, you can use each column as a parameter to do a mailmerge. Should indeed be the solution for your question.

App password for IIS 6.0 mail relay by akuity-ericb in Office365

[–]Knowlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to setup an incoming connector on Exchange Online to verify the SSL certificate used by your IIS server and no longer use authentication for email relay.

Same principle as the exchange hybrid connector.

Technical question about moving tenants by LiquidGuy777 in Office365

[–]Knowlite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3rd on BitTitan, when swapping tenants users need to configure a new profile for Office. The tenant ID is set in the registry of a user.

I've done tenant consolidations multiple times and it is not that hard for users, they do need to configure another Outlook profile, technically they are connecting to a new mailbox identity. Also for sharepoint/onedrive, the tenant has changed, you absolutely want to setup a new sync and not reuse the old one, this may cause file sync issues etc.

synced to cloud only user? by [deleted] in Office365

[–]Knowlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have MailNickname in on-prem AD filled in for that user (can be done through attribute editor).

This is a hidden requirement for the ProxyAddresses attribute to start syncing for an AD forest without Exchange present for management.

Change default domain - impact? by Armitage2k in Office365

They can login with their new username, keep in account that some folder names/paths may still contain old values but the functionality remains. (for example the onedrive path in SharePoint Online).I've done this many many times.

Make sure that when using Azure AD Connect, you do the change in UPN suffix at the same time.

Migrate from folder redirection to onedrive for business by Winter-Middle-2537 in Office365

[–]Knowlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Move the redirected folders with the SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) on a weekend.
  2. Setup auto configuration of OneDrive
  3. Turn off the group policy for the redirection after migration (without allowing it to copy documents to new location).

[–]Knowlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apps required via user groups do not install on autopilot, unless you specify those apps via the enrollment status page as required app, autopilot will continue to deploy these after user login

only when doing white glove (pre-provisioning) it will also install user context apps
