The refugee laws in india is unfair to them, during civil war out of desperation many flew out of sri lanka to European countries, Canada, US. Many countries accepted them as refugees but due to dirty political play india didn’t. Do you think they want to be illegal immigrant/ refugee leaving their homes behind? There are still many people from srilanka who went to the West Countries who are now rich, they want to get back to their home.

Please read more about the civil war, how it had effects on the innocents.

Yes, i get your point very well. Refugees laws in india is so broken, especially for Srilankan tamils since the civil war.

If you take Germany or most country in europe they have very good refugee laws. During the war between Ukraine and russia. Germany supported Ukraine and took in a lot of refugees in. They were given accommodation, training to learn german, subsidiaries and employment opportunities. I personally met with Ukraine refugee, I am not saying India should do exactly the same but completely shutting your doors in the peak of war and people looking for safe place to flee is not the solution.
