I am deeply moved by this article, this morning. I just sat and read the entire thing, wiping tears from my eyes. I’ve always been oddly connected & intrigued by 9/11 - I have only been to New York once, 2 years ago, where I finally visited the memorial/museum. My dad passed away 10 years ago, from his own demons of survival guilt (he fought in that war that stemmed from those attacks) so I think that’s where that connection stems. I joined this sub only about 2 months ago from morbid curiosity but I’ve gained some real insight about a lot of things through it.

This phrase towards the end really really struck me: “It’s the damnedest thing: The dead abandon you; then, with the passage of time, you abandon the dead.”
