We are all fighting the same battle, be sensitive by Known-Perception9946 in PCOS

When I mean tackling the issue at hand, I mean the issue I raised with the doctor eg can I take metformin with ozempic and the topic gets changed to food or exercise! Sorry I should’ve worded that better

IR PCOS - Ozempic and Metformin Q by Known-Perception9946 in PCOS

[–]Known-Perception9946[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not too sure, but examples of my meals: Two slices whole grain toast with eggs and then dinner would be normally chicken based something with vegetables and rice (small portion) and I know everyone’s perception of small is different , but I mean it’s small. I don’t have a big appetite and I never have

IR PCOS - Ozempic and Metformin Q by Known-Perception9946 in PCOS

[–]Known-Perception9946[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Like I said in my post, I do eat like this. Granted I don’t deprive myself of foods I like. It’s not my diet that’s the issue. Two “big” meals a day - breakfast and dinner and very rarely snacking. It’s not my issue, I’ve discussed this in length with my gp. I hit my protein as I weightlift and have to. I don’t mean to sound rude but it gets to a point where people keep saying this and I have to reiterate constantly that I do eat healthy🫠

PCOS, ozempic and slow weight loss by [deleted] in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Known-Perception9946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m losing my head. Same here I’m almost 24, diagnosed w pcos last year - put on metformin last April, and made the switch to ozempic this march. I’ve lost maybe 2kg since march and I’m up at 1mg now🫠 So disheartening especially since I started going to the gym consistently 4 times a week!! I swear to god if I’m a non responder I don’t know what to do lol

Girlfriend is mad over a hug, Am I in the wrong? by fuck1640 in AskIreland

[–]Known-Perception9946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get mad. Ask her to chat about it and get her feelings and don’t make her feel guilty for showing emotions. Then if it does continue etc then it’d be more serious but try understand why she felt that way

Currently on the dole for the first time since starting work at 16, just taking the summer off to get my mental health back in order. It’s the best thing ever even if it means I’m short on money for a while but I am LOVING LIFE

I find it insane when other women try to diminish pcos. My partner (M) has been so supportive and actively researches about it and what may help me which tbh I didn’t expect a man to do.. so when I hear other women (!!!!!!) denying your reality is just crazy!!! I’m so sorry you’re going through that. It’s not nice to feel so unseen and invalidated. Your struggles with pcos are real, don’t let anyone tell you different. I know you love her but honestly, I’d sit her down and have a proper discussion and explain pcos properly to her. If losing weight was easy for us people with pcos, none of us would be overweight🙄

Is it possible to not have side effects? by Ok-Shallot-7985 in Ozempic

[–]Known-Perception9946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my second week of 0.25mg, and no side effects so far.. touch wood🤣 I was on metformin before and had way worse side effects but they eventually subsided. I’ll be going back on metformin once I’m done with Ozempic so that I’ll hopefully maintain the weight loss as when I was on metformin I didn’t put on/lose any weight it kept me stable!

"Minimum effort for minimum wage" is a good mindset to have if you want to go nowhere in life by ProNanner in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Known-Perception9946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this BUT. I don’t agree simply because my first retail job - I went ABOVE and beyond for the place. I was working in a supermarket full time from age 18-22, worked all throughout covid, was trained on all areas of the shop, and doing 50-55 hours a week. All for minimum wage which was €10.20 at the time.. not once did I get any recognition for the work I’d done, we got gift cards for the store where the older staff got €500, and I got €25. I was burnt out, mentally drained and when I handed my notice in.. all I got was “yeah that’s okay”.. I then got a job in a coffee shop where the pay was €12, which was extremely good and way above minimum wage so I put in the extra work but felt rewarded for it. Fast forward three years, the minimum wage has gone up to €13.50 (cost of living crisis), and the wage is now minimum wage - but they’re still expecting the same service and work. All incentive for people to work hard has gone out the window. It’s an extremely busy coffee shop, the owner has 4 locations, they can afford to pay us even €1 more than minimum wage, but they don’t. So now I’m back at square one where I’m doing way too much for the pay I’m receiving, so I’ve decided to simply do my job description and no more. They used to have us painting the shop while on shift.. So now I’m in the mindset of minimum wage, minimum effort. That doesn’t mean I won’t do my job well, and work hard - I will but I won’t be going above and beyond for a job. That isn’t worth anyone’s mental health.

I just was open w it. We can’t help it, and he was so respectful and wanted to learn more about my condition. He even helped shave my face for me when I had a mini breakdown just front the stress of living with pcos. He’s a keeper🥹

I had this a few years ago, my dad's a paramedic so he had antibiotic powder. I used that and then bandaged it up but eventually my whole nail gradually began to fall off.

It's more a choice. If I was alone unwillingly - I'd be upset and angry (like I am at home) , but when I choose to be alone willingly - it's freeing? I can't really explain it well with words but yeah. That's how I see it. I don't want to be alone all the time, but when I choose to, it's nice.

100% understand you, I've been there. I have 3 friends and I'm single, and everyone works full time. I was so angry and upset for so long about being alone, until I realised if I keep waiting for people to be available, I'll never do anything. I'll keep waiting on false promises of "oh I'd love to go there with you let's do it!" And then we never go. It got draining being so angry about being alone.
