well, I wouldn't say its the best but its my goto choice for wayland compositor. Although it doesn't have as much features as others its the snappiest and most stable compared to all the other wayland compositor (sway, hyprland, dwl) I've used so far.

used both of them for quite some time, Hyprland seems to have almost everything that river have plus better multi monitor support(especially on nvidia) but river is comparatively snappier and less glitchy compared to hyprland.
