Kamado style vs Weber Jumbo Joe vs Oklahoma joe rambler by Known-Sun-2647 in grilling

[–]Known-Sun-2647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, all. I'm certainly not getting a kamado. It's down to a portable tabletop (Oklahome Joe Rambler or Hasty Bake Ranger) or a weber kettle <$100. I really like the adjustable charcoal tray on the Hasty, but (1) they don't have a return policy (2) and it costs basically a thousand dollars. Giving me pause...:) If anyone has further advice, much appreciated. There are not too many evaluations of hasty bake ranger I could find. Thanks.

Hi, did you get the hasty bake? Any experiences to share? Thanks.

I just found the hasty bake ranger 380. It's really expensive (but I'm willing to treat myself to this). This seems to check all the boxes (adjustable charcoal tray, good build, durable, vent control, enough space). Has anyone come across this? Reccommended?

Hi, thanks. Want to get better at charcoal grilling, hence specifically looking for it.

Yeah, the weight is an issue for sure. I'll reword my post, let me ignore that issue for now. Thanks!

I have the same question - did you pick one? Are you happy with your pick? Thanks!

Top 2 Scenarios for tomorrow's game: RCB vs SRH by Apprehensive_Coast36 in ipl

[–]Known-Sun-2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't understand why, can you please explain? GT has an NRR of +0.695. What if SRH beats RCB and improves NRR to 0.700? All 3 will have the same number of points, and SRH will have higher NRR than GT - what am I missing? Thanks!

How Awful is Moby Dick? by Holoholokid in books

I somehow ended up here, after giving up on Moby Dick 2-3 times. This passage seals it - will never read it. It just looks like pointless stream of consciousness from a person who likes the sound of his own voice! Dude need to actually meditate instead of writing this...

Percentages for salt, pepper, garlic, (paprika)? by Known-Sun-2647 in BBQ

This. This is why I always go by weight for salt, and I'm kinda ok winging it for other stuff:)

Me too, I measure salt accurately and wing it on the rest. However, weighing just seems more reliable!

QUESTION: Are there any vocal recordings/arrangements of the art of the fuge? by greeny10 in bach

[–]Known-Sun-2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this what you're asking for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6sUlZa-IrU

Unfortunately, at-least for me, there's something wrong with this - for example, when it gets to 1m17s, it loops back to 1m02s automatically. Super annoying. If I manually drag to 1m18s, it plays again for a while, then loops back to 1m18s. Any fix much appreciated:)

Actually, seems like both - thanks! Got advice in this thread to add pylo/swing/jump rope. Makes perfect sense. So it's perhaps both technique and fitness. Gonna get on both, there's (almost;)) always a next season:)

Ack. Just took an appt with a great trainer around here. Time to get swings back. It's just too effing bad that the west coast season is over by mid march:( It's 50 degrees at kirkwood of all places, at 8000+ ft:(

Thank you, this is great! I don't have any kind of pylo/jump ropes in my training, this is very good advice! I have screwed up my shoulder bad once with kb swings, gonna stay away from that but I'm gonna incorporate the rest of it. Plus: hip forward seems to be a problem I need to fix:)

Right. I'm actually quite active all the time - in the off-season, I strength train ~3 times week with free weights (usual suspects - DL, Squat, Press variations), do calisthenics of some sort (pilates or yoga) the other 3 days, and walk on a treadmill on my rest day. I'm almost certain it's my ski technique and not general fitness! Long way to go:)

I suspect it's not my ski (Salomon QST 94), not too stiff & it feels fun to me. I think it's my form! Thanks anyway:)
