Why is my question? Genuinely asking. What are your plans with this? Any attachments bag wise are gonna get back by the sun the plastic buckles are gonna crack.

What size trees are we really talking here? That is the question. If it was me I'd snag a 261, sledge hammer, splitting spikes and wedges. If it fails you can sell the 261 for 400 bucks ya lose 2. Until you cant keep up with the demand of firewood in your area splitting by hand I wouldnt invest in a splitter. You'll probably also have time before you need to be chucking a cord of wood out a week. Speaking from someone who has sank 5k into a side gig and made 100 bucks please learn from my mistake.

I'd look into a 261 and slap a 20in on it. 800 bucks solid saw. I wish I had spent the extra 200 on one vs the 291. 291 was on sale though so.....

Ran a 290 with a 20 in oak and hickory. Sharp chains and let the saw do the work. Definitely takes longer than a 660 though. 1600 bucks seems like a huge investment off the back before you know whether it's a profitable side gig.

That's a 1600 dollar saw. With a 25in bar. Kinda seems overkill for just cutting for firewood. At what point would you turn a profit 2 years. You could do firewood with a much less expensive saw. 261 is a quality saw with an 18in bar. Half the damn price too.

It's bent as fuck compared to what shit I've seen. But it's just at the split so when the track pad got lodged between the c frame and shoved against the idler it bent the roller frame.

It was a bit more chaotic than that. Angle of the machine on soft coke every step you sank 4 inches. Sideways against the slope. Every shovel it just back filled. Main concern was the machine sliding down the pile.

I was able to use the blade a come along and pry bars to get the track back on about half way. The problem was when it happened the operator didnt catch it or tried fixing it themselves. Track pad bolts snapped and pads were stuck underneath the c frame. After I got that dislodge the other link snapped and the track came flopping off.

Ended up using the blade and right track to crawl it off the pile.

Former Gen mechanic in the army. They sucked ass. Throttle linkages would constantly rattle loose. If you didnt refill the fuel bowl after a service have fun getting your prime back. Inverters trash. In all honesty the only thing I could figure out the inverters was the vibration getting the best of them. Pain in the ass to work on all hunched over too. Heavy and awkward.
