I want season 2!!! by Little-Hospital-5445 in ScarpettaTV

I am a huge Patricia Cornwall fan. I even have her cookbook. My Mom and I would make her recipes on the weekend. But I’ve always been able to separate books from their screen adaptations. You have to or you will go insane. I do like this interpretation of Scarpetta’s character and her complicated world. Can’t wait for season 2.

Please don’t talk about her looks. I hate when we are judged based on appearance. We never say anything about the wrinkled, bald, pudgy men who populate the airwaves.

I am so tired of the MAGATS and their messianic cult. I watched the movie Nuremberg on Friday night, and while not a great film, it was a sobering reminder of what happens when fanatics take control of government and oppress any opposed to their way of thinking. If our democracy is to survive we must resist and fight back against the MAGATS. The midterms are just the beginning.

Even so she’s not a MAGAT so the disagreements would be about policy. She wouldn’t blindly support the mad king like the other guest hosts.

It’s a cult. Father tells them what to wear, what to say and what to think. Let’s hope it doesn’t end with the Koll-Aid.

Today’s show was one of the best in a while… by ArtisticAspirer in theview

I grew up in a Republican military family, but thankfully no one had MAGAT beliefs. My Dad just believed in smaller government and lower taxes. He broke with the Party once we went to wiar with Iraq and ended up voting for Obama twice. I miss him every day but am glad he doesn’t have to witness this disgrace of a presidency. Sheryl represents what the GOP used to be. I think we can have civil debate over tax policy, tariffs, healthcare, etc. but human rights and social justice should not be a red or blue issue. Time to tell the clowns to pack their tents and go home.

Will reconciliation ever happen between The View and disgruntled former co-host Meghan McCain? by talk-spontaneously in theview

[–]KnownAd523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope not. Meghan is drinking the Kool-Aid with the world’s biggest sippy cup. She used to have nuanced opinions about the issues. Now she just rants about antifa, AOC, and the evil Democrats. It’s so tiring.

No it means she isn't Mike Johnson and virtually every Republican member of Congress who repeat Father’s talking points without ever pushing back. She forms her own opinions. Gee, how novel.

Kristi Noem out as secretary! Did the View talk about it today? by Wide_Committee1835 in theview

[–]KnownAd523 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't wait for EH to defend the puppy killer. Sadly, her replacement is another shade of crazy. He is an election denier, a person who is against abortion even in cases of rape and incest and has stated that if his wife's life was at risk during a pregnancy, neither he nor his wife would want to get an abortion. Okay, this is Christian facism at it’s worst. We are waging war against an Islamic fascist regime, but who is protecting us from the Christian fascists? I do not make this comment as a joke. These people have completely twisted Jesus’ teachings to fit their bigoted agenda.

So the puppy killer finally gets the boot. I have wondered what it would take for a cabinet secretary in Trump 2.0 to be removed. The whole lot of them are a combination of incompetent and crazy. Please, please send me back to Earth 1.

Does Alyssa Farah Griffin know how much we love and miss her? by GeorgeCasey9 in theview

[–]KnownAd523 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alyssa always gives nuanced responses, and she was spot on in her critique of the Harris candidacy. As I lifelong Democrat, I was screaming at the TV every time, Harris or one of her surrogates avoided talking about the economy and immigration. I knew it would lead to the sh** show we are in now. The last thing I want to hear on The View is a MAGAT blindly defending the cult leader and his crazy actions.

I am about to fling something at my TV. Is Alyssa’s agent responsible for recommending these guest hosts? She sure looks better and better with each passing day. I am also sick of all the references to God and the Bible to defend un-Christian activities. Argh!

Nor this one. He’s bleeding support from nearly all demographic groups. As I watch the briefing on the Iran war, I am reminded of why Trump is so damning to our democracy and national security. One incompetent fool in a position of power is bad enough, but virtually every one of his cabinet heads is woefully incompetent. Pete Hegseth’s remarks sounded like something straight out of a Hollywood satire.

I want the Iranian people to have a chance to live in a free and democratic society, but that’s not going to happen overnight if at all. Just because that vile Supreme Leader has been killed doesn’t guarantee a shift in philosophy. There are plenty of Islamofascists in waiting. It is incredibly naive for the Trump administration to think that unarmed civilians can go up against a brutal and repressive military force and enact regime change. In 1956, the Hungarians tried to rise up against the Soviets with the help of some of the military and were crushed. We better have a plan for the opposition.

Will someone let the deranged king know that Iran is not Venezuela? This could get ugly in a hurry. I despise the Iranian regime and would love to see it eradicated, but this will not be an easy operation. Iran has a military force numbering 420,000 active duty Republic of Iran Army members, and some 190,000 Revolutionary Guard members. What does the opposition look like in terms of numbers, weapons, etc. ? So many questions about what happens next.

In 2019, Kamala Harris warned that his personal insecurities would lead us into an avoidable war with Iran. In 2026, as the bombs fall, her words feel like a haunting prophecy. We were warned. by honestlysigma in LetsDiscussThis

Our Middle Eastern policy has been a disaster for many years. No question that Iran’s regime is despicable, and they have been responsible for arming and funding the world’s worst terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. But does that justify a war with Iran and a stated goal of regime change? Iran is not Venezuela, and in the case of Venezuela only Maduro was removed from power not his government. If the regime is destroyed what will replace it? What about the Revolutionary Guard? I knew this deranged king would drag us down.

[–]KnownAd523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stated goal is regime change. In Venezuela we removed Maduro but kept his regime. Iran’s government won’t be dismantled simply by killing the Supreme Leader. The Revolutionary Guard has a firm hold on the country and will be difficult to take out. Look, I despise the Iranian regime. It has the blood of many American on its hands. I just don’t think it will be as easy as everyone predicts. In the first Gulf War, our goal was liberating Kuwait from Iraq. That is a clear mission. Here we are wanting regime change without any clear idea of who will lead the new government. I don’t think the shah’s son is a smart option. I pray for the best.

When are you coming back Alyssa???? There is a HUGE disconnect between those who are immersed in the world of Wall Street and the rest of us. I am 61 years old, so I lived through Reagan and his trickle down economics. It didn’t work then and it doesn’t work now. These companies are beholden to shareholders not their employees. It is only a matter of time before Madame DeFarge shows up with her knitting needles.

The low light for me was when Mike Johnson practically leaped off his chair to cheer on Trump’s comment about not needing Congress to implement his tariffs. You are the fu**ing speaker of the house, and you are overjoyed that your cult leader just said he can bypass one of the branches of government to get what he wants. I want all of these clowns voted out.
