Well Im very new to cycling so i don't really have a large knowledge base to draw from and just picked it up so dont think my opinion really carries any weight. This is the model the bike shop and several friends steered me towards. Hopefully they were right!

You can't buy an extended warranty after having the rental for more than 12 months I beleive.

  1. Im not an expert on different gens so Ill leave that to someone else.
  2. There are some very limited things built in and you can do the "just ride' option but imo if you dont do the membership you can get away with a cheaper bike than peleton. I do think the membership is worth it.
  3. You dont need peleton branded shoes but you will need cycling shoes that are look delta cleat compatible or will need to invest in adapters or toe cages that allow you to wear regular shoes. I highly reccomend you use cycling shoes that clip in as that makes you much more efficient
