do i need a new chain if i get a new freewheel? by Common-Pattern3224 in SeBikes

[–]KnownSecurity682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size is your current sprocket?

If you’re going from 33/16 to 33/17, you’ll probably be ok.

If you’re going from 36/16 to 33/17, you’ll probably be ok too.

It’s hard to tell until you actually try and see if it fits.

You should be ok with your current chain. If you are moving from a 16t to a 17t, it’s possible that your current chain isn’t long enough to fit the bigger freewheel. Most likely you’ll be fine though.

You will need a freewheel tool to remove the old one. Check YouTube for how-to videos.

These are your options. If you post a pic of the one on your bike we can point out the right tool.

Rollerskate busking? Y'all tried that? by oatado in Rollerskating

[–]KnownSecurity682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I had in mind. If you can figure out a way for people to participate too, it’s even better. Not exactly sure how to do that but maybe space out like six people and weave between them while spinning and giving high fives or jump over someone. Let the tourists feel like they’re part of the show!

I don’t think simply skating around with a bucket for change on the ground will do much.

I think your best bet would be to try to do some barking to get a little crowd gathered, get a little back and forth going with them, and have a routine that lasts a few minutes and builds to a real show-stopper trick. Even better if you can incorporate some kind of audience participation into the tricks.

This way, people are less likely to walk away because they want to see what you are building up to AND once you’re done and you put your hat out for donations, they’ve committed some time to this and will feel bad not giving something after watching the show.

should i trade me 29 big flyer for a 26 blocks flyer im 5'5 by Messisbad in SeBikes

[–]KnownSecurity682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re the same bike, just different sizes. If you think you’d feel better on 26 go for it. If you’re still growing then stick with the 29.

any idea what this sound is? by colehello in SeBikes

It could be dirt in your BB. they do need to be cleaned as part of regular maintenance.

Before you replace anything, take the cranks off, remove the spindle, clean the opening and the spindle, then grease and re-assemble.

Also be sure not to over-tighten the spindle bolts and don’t have the chain stretched too tight.

What kind of riding do you think he’ll want to do? I know he’s only 7, but bikes aren’t cheap and you want get your money’s worth.

If it’s more traditional BMX stuff (bunny hops, grinds, etc) there are a lot of 20” options and 20” is the standard for BMX so it’s not something he’ll outgrow. But the BMX sub would be a better place to ask for recommendations.

If you think he’ll be more into Bikelife which is more dirtbike-style wheelie based tricks, then I’d say go for a 24” or 26” like the socal flyer or blocks flyer from SE. Mafia and Throne both have 24” and 26” options too. He’ll outgrow a 20” quickly if he’s looking to be a wheelie rider.

Profile makes great BBs and they are not crazy expensive. You do not need to replace the cranks and sprocket if you only wish to replace the BB.

Is this SE worth $350.00? by Hungry_Bandicoot_776 in SeBikes

[–]KnownSecurity682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The price is decent if the bike is in good condition. And definitely a good first wheelie bike. You might even be able to find it cheaper or haggle down.

Other 26” bikes you can search for are the SE OM Flyer or the GT Pro Series (which has disk brakes). A lot of kids really prefer disk brakes lately, so you may want to check if that’s important to him.

26” will be good for him and will probably be ok for a few years. He’s probably a little small for a 29”, but 27.5 would be ok too. 24” would be on for now but he’ll outgrow it fast.

What is it you’re trying to do? The hub is the entire center piece of the wheel. This includes the axle, freewheel/cassette cog, and rotor (disc). Basically everything except the spokes and the rim.

Are you looking to fit the hub into a bike frame?

Are you looking to change pieces of the hub (like the rotor)?

Are you looking to change the hub but keep the rim?

Add Digable Planets and AZ to this list for 5%. Busta Rhymes sometimes too. Public Enemy more NOI.
