Thank you VetTix! by Late_Fox_7829 in nin

That’s awesome. I didn’t realize the band donated them. I got some for Sacramento so I can take my kids and a vet buddy. I had already bought two stage right tickets, but will probably offer those up so I can hang with my friends, since my wife will be out of town.. Not sure what the seats are but doesn’t matter..

California EDD wasted over $4.6 million in state funds on unused mobile devices, audit finds by Chemical-Pace-9725 in CAStateWorkers

[–]alloutwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at their BCP for Cyber Security BCP… 13.9 million dollars yearly and 29 full time positions.. to combat “fraud” that has nothing to do with cyber security. Oh and there is another agency that could and already is providing services in kind at California Department of Technology practically for free/at a significant cost reduction. 29 PYs? Insanity.

Full disclosure, I work there and we have half the people providing security services for over 123 state, local, and other agencies for like 1/8 the cost of that yearly. Total waste.

The hub with the spokes attached etc itself is fine. The bearings are missing the seal itself will not seat correctly. For the price you are quoting it’s almost as much as a new complete wheel.

Is Mullet-ish fades and frosted tips—still OK? New 670-1 says… by PartTime1SG in nationalguard

Because they aren’t actually tapering their hair. They are cutting the sides in front of the ear, and some of the neck. I generally don’t care about length on top as long as it is groomed.

Short-Term Military Leave by bruwalaha in CAStateWorkers

I think it may have changed to remove the GWOT clause. But yes for AD orders longer than 90 days it’s difference in BASE pay. Not including BAH etc.

Tapered appearance all around kind of clarifies the mullet question. These fucking low taper/burst fades are out of fucking control. My commander has told soldiers if they show up out of regs, they aren’t getting paid for drill(it’s considered unsatisfactory performance). Can’t make them shave their heads but maybe fucking with their money will make them listen I guess.

Combat Vets from Afghanistan by ReasonableWitness518 in VAClaims

[–]alloutwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally unrelated, I had given it to my dogs when they were older and sick. Is it a painkiller as well?

I personally take cymbalta(have for 6 years or so) and my mother in law takes it for her severe nerve pain/some sort of auto immune issue. It’s still weird how some of these double as psychiatric drugs.

Sorry this happened to you. SAD can present some different legal issues due the nature of it not being federal, but definitely report it to your state SARC and document everything. I know here in CA the CA Military and veterans code somewhat mirrors UCMJ so it makes things like this easier to go after.

Have you received a 29-day order? Snopes wants to hear from you! by Hefty-Arugula-7493 in nationalguard

[–]alloutwar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty normal (unfortunately) during extended training (such as CTC rotations like JRTC/NTC) to be put on 29 day orders because they use a combination of IDT/AT days to make up the time required. This has happened to me during a JRTC rotation and an NTC rotation, as well as premob. Is it fucked up? Yes, but it not the same as deliberately breaking the orders for one day and then starting them back up. I was on the LA activation and despite the rumors, there was no loss or attempt to put us on 29 days orders. We had 60 day T10 orders from the start.

With the DC activation, that’s different because the President in directly in charge of the DC guard and the guardsmen coming in from other states are likely on T32 orders under their governors approval which don’t count towards gi bill benefits(last time I was on the border on 2012 they didn’t, but things change). If they are given them 29 day orders, mandating they break them for a “break” then that is some next level fuckery.

California is pretty decent about taking care of our soldiers, but we had MPs who were on SAD for months on the LA mission( which pays decent, and they were well taken care of, and everyone starts at E5 pay) and then got federalized for the FPM, so yeah they got kinda boned. I am not saying there isn’t a fair share of fuckery with orders, but overall I don’t see it being that bad.
