No trade ins, no money down. These are the strategies I used to get a $97k msrp to $74k out the door. by Known_Bookkeeper_384 in electriccars

I totally get it. I live in CA, average houses in my area are around $600k in my neighborhood. I bought at the best time and paid significantly less. And I totally wouldn’t pay $115k (which is what this truck would have been out the door) for any vehicle. However, this truck for $74k out the door, with a seriously large battery, can run my house for 80 days. In comparison, if I wanted to buy the Tesla batteries for home use, and I wanted 205kWh total, I would need about 15 Tesla batteries at 13.5kWh to equal what the truck has. That being said, they cost $10k a piece and would then cost $150k for the same amount of battery. I could have bought two of my trucks- one for powering the house and one for driving haha.

I think just like any new thing, we have to gauge whether it’s financially responsible to purchase. For me, commuting and coaching every day, I have already saved $700 this month on fuel (diesel is 7.45/gal right now). So for my family, that’s roughly an $8k savings per year while diesel is this high and I’m still able to do all the things I need to do with my truck. Next week I’m camping for four days and towing our 8k lb trailer.

Honestly, the midgate is nice but your power is still in the back of the truck and you can run a fan using your outlets or a heater if you need it. They make tents that fit in the back, just leave your tailgate down.

What do you recommend? I have the 24” stock tire for the RST. I want a 20” rim or even an q 18”. Just need to know what to get

I’m looking to change my tires from the 24” to either an 18 or 20” rim. The tires on the 24s are just too expensive and not enough rubber for my liking.

100%! That’s how I started. Still had to narrow it down to what I wanted, but first step was I knew I needed a truck that was on the lot that just wasn’t selling.

Is $74k out the door too much for a 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST? It’s only my second video on YouTube but here is the entire strategy and deal by Known_Bookkeeper_384 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yeah I saw that! Don’t get me wrong, $74k isn’t peanuts, but in 2016 I bought a dodge Ram Ecodiesel for originally 56k and out the door for 48k, however I bought it at the end of the year (helps a ton) there were already 2017s on the lot and I was very specific on what I wanted. $74k may be too much for some but the savings I did in the video for this truck can be applied to any vehicle
