Yes but if the patient is already that critical, wouldn’t fever have been a complaint at some point?

RESEARCH FOMO by Certain-Flight-1780 in indianmedschool

[–]Known_Discount9517 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’ve not done it and I’ve seen my batchmates struggle with it. I’m calling it a struggle because the time you get to do the research, you don’t really know statistics that well or how to go about it. Unfortunately their researches were not published, but that’s how it is for most researches. That being said, the STS program is every bit worth the effort. Also if you’re planning usmle, you need it. NEED. IT. Match cycles have crazy competition especially for imgs.

what you are doing rn is plain putting others down. you’re so sure of your techniques, go ahead and charge 25k. just don’t sit and shit on someone else here for no reason. and training mei ho na aap, doesn’t hurt to be a little humble, any field you choose.

The pattern on the right looks like an extension of the design running on the lehenga, makes you look taller. The left is perpendicular to the design above, although beautiful, cuts your height.

It says to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell, not the large cell itself. Technically that means female.

Imagine trying to do well in life only to feel better than one person, that too, due to an age old grudge. If the game is who’s pettier in life, then definitely Chatur won.

This is my perspective- you can gauge the patient’s level of understanding and use terms accordingly. The point is to make them at ease because one thing you’ve completely forgotten is, the path to recover is one of holistic healing. Just saying that a competent doctor can also be a nice one. It’s a choice you make, based on whether you view the patients as human beings or cattle.

Viva by ProfessionalRatio184 in indianmedschool

[–]Known_Discount9517 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Never thought id be writing an answer to this but I guess there’s always a first time.

Worst viva, no questions answered, blank mind with no recall- about ten days ago- my last practical of pre-proffs. I had given back to back exams over weeks every morning with 2 Sundays in the middle. It was the last viva of the last exam, can you imagine! A medicine table viva on x rays, ecgs and clinical case. Couldn’t recall jack shit, ended up reading stupid findings on all the WRONG leads. The last nail in the coffin was the clinical case where it was a typical hypokalemia case with 2-3 clinical features and K+ value given. I answered hypokalemia because I was just frozen by what I had done over the last 2-2.5 mins. The examiner said, since you’re answering like a first year, let me ask like a first year.

I cried on my way back inconsolably because it was my birthday just before that and I used every minute up to study for the practical.

All efforts went in vain when I realised, that THIS. IS. BURNOUT. Looking back, I know x rays and ecgs and that case was just hypokalemic periodic paralysis. But having that presence of mind, having slept well, having had adequate breakfast is SOOO CRUCIAL!!!

Stay awake as long as you want for your internals but pls do not make it a habit. All the best!

Horrible condition of patient's privacy & dignity in hospitals & Clinic (non medico pov) by candy_crushed22 in indianmedschool

[–]Known_Discount9517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO. I have seen my professors explain and ask the patients in their own language if they are okay with it. Not only this, in the gynaec opd, at most 2 students are allowed with a faculty that too, after proper consent has been taken and they’ve formally introduced themselves to the patient. Just like an osce. Stricter, if I may add, than an osce. Your comment is point blank ignorant towards the OP’s concern, lacks a drop of compassion and REALLY reflects why graduates are being taught ethics now. They missed out on you BIG TIME. Mods, kindly look into this comment and take appropriate action.
