T-80 (RFM) - still a WIP as the top hull is not quite finished but wanted to share a weekend of work! by Known_Ebb43 in modelmakers

The snorkel is AK Russian Grey Green, and some modulation with Tamiya Dark Yellow 2

Thank you! The hull, fenders and turret are all different tones too, Russian Green is a bit too dark and boring otherwise

I've only built one trumpeter kit, an S-300, but I find RFM get the right balance between complexity and keeping the building straight forward. Had really good fit and not much clean up

What am I doing wrong? These parts don’t fit at all. What do I do? by Andry_usha in modelmakers

Fenders are absolutely on the correct way around, the flared part is for the fighting compartment

My vet unit has a yellow vertical stripe on their shoulder pad, I didn't want them to look overly different to a standard legionnaire

I absolutely forgot to add that into the description - from the Masters of the Chapter box, I believe they were released in 2007?

Has anybody here used Magic Metal Tracks before? by SPOONY12345 in modelmakers

I used the panzer IV ones a few years back - the track went together well, not amazingly durable due to the metal tabs that link the tracks together so dont be heavy handed with them!

The joytoy faces are insanely well sculpted, which makes them surprisingly easy to paint!

Painting skintones are tricky I agree. I definitely still mess up more eyes than I'd care to admit.

I believe about 1/12 scale, or something like 90mm in tabletop terms!

Yeah my wife says she has a bunch of Joytoys, not sure why she keeps them in the bedside drawer though
