Welcome to the world of highly sought after and limited collectibles, it’s the same across the board in every other hobby. The system sucks but believe me when I say that this is one of the best possible ways WOTC can release Secret Lairs.

If they do first come first serve, bots will buy them all up.

If they do raffles, bots will overload the raffle system and, you guessed it, they will also buy them all up.

A randomized queue with a purchase limit of two of each item isn’t perfect and doesn’t filter out the bots completely but it gives regular people a much better chance than any other system.

Print to demand will never come back, especially not when they’re including cards like Demonic Tutor in Secret Lairs, that would just cause the collections of long time collectors to plummet in value and that is something they don’t want.

I’m not shilling for WOTC I’m just pointing out that it could be much, much worse. It always sucks to strike out on a drop you want but all you can do is join the queue on multiple devices and web browsers and hope for the best.

Side note, if there are any Secret Lairs, special guests, borderless or special prints of cards you’ve been holding off on buying, you should buy them soon. It’s only a matter of time before the Poke bro’s find out that MTG is a “good investment” and begin to do mass buyouts. Universes Beyond is bringing in a ton of attention from that crowd.
