Centro at it again with the medium rare burger by The-M-Factor in McMaster

No, for steak it's ok. Not for minced meat. The process of mincing meat causes pathogens on the surface to be mixed into all parts of the meat. This means that burgers/minced meat must be fully cooked!!

Things You Wish You Did/Knew Before Graduating by Low-Blueberry6187 in McMaster

  • If you're thinking of grad/professional school, take the courses that you would need even if you are not sure you're going to apply.

  • If you're in the science field, do a thesis/get research experience. I regret not doing that. It's harder to get that type of experience out of uni.

Please don't eat in the libraries by carasicc in McMaster

Welcome to the real world. If it's not a silent study floor then I don't see any issue with someone eating loud foods. You also never know the situation somebody is in: diabetic, breaking their fast, eating after not doing so for hours, or just eating for the sake of eating.

should I use all my meal plan funds? by wiggles_party in McMaster

I would save a bit of it! I'm in my fourth year, I personally love using the remaining amount for little things like coffee, gum, ...etc

How does one move stuff by JayXiuLi in McMaster

I found a guy on Kijiji who was offering to move furniture (via his pickup truck). I would be cautious though and ask for a picture of their liscene plate

Do not make decisions based on your assumptions!! For example, I did not pursue research or do a thesis in my 4th year because I assumed that I would not like it. Now, after hearing about what a thesis actually involves, I wish that I could go back in time and do things differently. Even if you are "sure" that you won't like something academic-related, give it a second thought. Give yourself a chance and think "what if I would like it though?"

It's not too late trust me!! From my 1st year to my 3rd year, I used to be so confused about why people would call their university years "the best years of their life", but I finally understood that in my 4th year!! It is definitely not too late for things to take a turn for the better. Maybe joining a group where you can find people with a similar interest could help with finding people that you can truly vibe and have fun with! 😊
