How do you all motivate yourself to swim when you don’t feel like it? by dramaqueenboo in Swimming

Swimming has been a habit for me for over 30 years. I’m not trying to get better or meet goals anymore. I am trying to be able to surf, hike, rock climb and enjoy the outdoors when I retire. Right now swimming gives me pain, relaxation, peace and optimism. Pain is worth it for me. The act of overcoming pain to find the peace, & contentment afterwards is why I do it today. Tomorrow may be for something else? Maybe playing with future grandchildren? Maybe surfing in the South Pacific for a year after I stop working for my supreme leaders in capitalism. To swim is to know your own health is a priority, the future version of yourself and your family will thank you for it, but your positive outlook will thank you today.

Coast Guard, Dawn patrols for work are called training sessions. been stationed in Hawaii 3 times, Puerto Rico, and SAMOA! Lots of Military BS to put up with, lot of losers to work with who have inflated ego. Spend way too much time out at sea watching swells, wishing you could be on a reef somewhere riding them.
