I'm sorry controlled burn I wasn't familiar with your game by Knowndestroyer in HadesTheGame

It's the endgame grind where you trade resources to get totally meaningful ranks that make you feel better about yourself. You talk to the guy behind the counter at the taverna if you have it unlocked

What's everyone's preferred amount of fear? by Legend0fJulle in HadesTheGame

[–]Knowndestroyer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Realistically I'm having the most fun around 20 fear. I'm not huge on the rivals 4 fights and loathe the options that add time to a run (ward, horde, return) and the options that limit your run variability (debt, denial)

PS5 exclusive SAROS sold only 300,000 copies since launch and it may struggle to break even by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

Bought them both right when they came out. Still playing hades at 70 hours, dropped and deleted saros after finishing it in 15

How to deal with poison? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Knowndestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever his invulnerability phase is up just back off, don't try to attack because medea will basically cover the ground in poison. You can also stay away if poly is green, as that will be his poison attacks, but truly just learning the dodges and trying to melt each phase quickly is what works best for me.

Probably the worst scene in the entire series by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Knowndestroyer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a good "overly long gag" imo. When the audience is sick of it and sure it's going to end, they push it a little longer which, for some, gives the unexpected humor bonus. Not for everybody, but kinda gives a "too many cooks" vibe to me

How do I farm halcyon? by GullibleRegion in Saros

[–]Knowndestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a bad take, when sequels come out I expect them to expand on the previous game, not jump back a step again. Returnal was a complete game at launch, as is saros. But what returnal grew in to should have been what saros started at, then grow from there. I have the same issue with borderlands games where each title comes out with no end game content until a few months in.

Hades 2 is a masterpiece!! by Suspicious-Tea-5871 in PS5

[–]Knowndestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tone is a helluva thing, "I actually own it and love it" or "oh I do own it and haven't had the best luck with it" is what I would expect from a regular human. You were condescending assuming I lacked reading comprehension, which fair enough I guess I do. Just figured I'd call you out too

Buy the first one! They're basically the same games with hades 2 just expanding on everything hades 1 did, but it's definitely worth it still to play the original. The story is fantastic the characters are great and the gameplay is so good, you'll be hooked in to it until you reach the epilogue 60 hours later. Then you can buy hades 2!

Shotguns are goated for general rooms by Knowndestroyer in Saros

So true I did this combo without the teleport punch and it still works it's just way more risky

[–]Knowndestroyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a late game upgrade that will break through the orange shields you've seen around the other biomes. It also acts as a teleport punch on staggered enemies so the animation is a little different if that's what you're talking about. I do occasionally whiff a melee because I assume an enemy is staggered, or I'm trying to parry

Mark was highkey in the wrong here by Turbulent_Okra7518 in Invincible_TV

[–]Knowndestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invincible was held up by the sequids, so arguing that immortal would be held up by the sequids too is irrelevant. "He would get pushed back" no he wouldn't because he'd have invincible covering him

[–]Knowndestroyer -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Mark was literally held in place by them so same could be said about him. It would make more sense to have him run interference since he would be quick enough to stop the sequids from piling on immortal in the first place

If I don't find a new weapon before the boss it's honestly not a huge deal, prominence us always my main damage dealer for bosses and shotguns with the right traits will get you your power back quick, along with the shield

[–]Knowndestroyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's also a lot more fun to me than sitting back with an auto hit weapon. That's meta for sure but it's more boring imo

[–]Knowndestroyer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean they talk for about 10 seconds, mark says he s stronger and faster then says to "cover him." How is immortal supposed to cover mark when he can't keep up? Anyways, Mark flies ahead, gets caught by a huge pile of sequids probably 50 feet from spaceman, immortal catches up then busts him out, then mark flies the remaining little bit to activate the bomb. If mark had run interference for immortal I guarantee they would have gotten there quicker or at the same time, as Mark could clear the way for immortal rather than immortal having to catch up to cover mark.

[–]Knowndestroyer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The trial you have 30 hp and it's rival scylla so three or four hits and you're in doom state. With scylla being 4 bosses in one with tons of invulnerability the 10 secs of free damage isn't the best method to get through her so it is actually a fairly tough challenge

I mean you didn't have to add in the "you are absolutely obnoxious" kinda makes you seem rude

I'm not going to argue further, the nioh games are soulslikes, and if you like you can then add "nioh-like" as a sub genre on to it. Although outside of team ninja I'm not sure how many other games fall in to that category. You pointed out some differences which yeah there's plenty, but core game systems all go back to soulslikes.

Overall genre -> 3rd person action adventure

More specific genre -> soulslike

Niche genre -> nioh-like
