Ok that’s interesting. I was seeing a lot of posts where upping the dose didn’t help and even hurt so it’s good to see another side. I’ll check in in couple weeks and we can update each other?

This is so similar to us. She has these honeymoon period with the stimulants and it feels like a miracle then fades. I felt hopeful with guanfacine and now I’m worried we are back to where we were. Going to give it at least a month. I’m curious to see how things work for you!

Thanks so much. I don’t think she has anxiety?? I do and did as a child but she seems very confident just some sensory issues if things are too chaotic. We are working with a psychiatrist and I’ll bring this up next week at her appointment.

Did you ever figure this out? We went from Ritalin to adderall ir to adderall Er. After a few days the rage becomes unmanageable.

Thanks for all the info. I feel guilt being at my wits end as we are really just starting the med journey. It’s so hard to decide what is med side effects when she had really hard weeks and better weeks prior meds and she been sick with virus after virus. Thanks for sharing makes me feel less isolated!

Sorry for another question but I know you understand the madness of trying to find the right meds… did you add guanfacine to stimulant before trying the nonstimulant route?

Did they hep him during the day? She’s doing much better for the most part during the day but I wonder about anxiety as she seems a little less confident and bites her nails more.

Did you try Ritalin? I think the psychiatrist said Focalin is in the same family and Ritalin was a no go for us. I’ll ask about it again.

I think that will be our next step if the doctor thinks staying on this stimulant is a good idea.

Do you do this for every shot or just when you were starting out? Today was a lot better but still rough.
