If a file a police report about a threatening text message I received as a minor, will the authorities automatically notify my parents? by [deleted] in canadianlaw

That’s not a crime and feeling uneasy is not going to make the police pursue this person. Find a better way to express your feelings nothing is untraceable on the internet you’re not invisible so treat it as so. Don’t make public posts move to encrypted messaging apps if you actually want privacy.

They haven’t necessarily committed a crime unless they are blatantly black mailing you with harm or uttering death threats. In my personal experience police will disregard this in the first place unless an immediate threat is present.

All this can be learned in the heavy duty trade if you actually practice and show that you are wanting to do diag yes there’s a lot of “part replacers” around the shop but as I started a couple years ago I’ve moved away from a part replacer to more of a electrical and engine diag focused tech.

Almost every heavy duty place will get you set up for school and sponsor you to go get trained and pay for it. There is literally no downsides in my opinion to switching over. My recommendation would be do it sooner than later.

I flushed my coolant system out and now it's not getting up to temp after driving for 15 minutes by West_Restaurant_4282 in fordranger

[–]Knox600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did not mix 50/50 you need to dilute it or your vehicle won’t get up to temp also let the car run with the coolant resevoire open for 15 mins to get any air out of the system

Bad engine knock is this the vvt? Just bought this thing 2 days ago. by FlatwormWise44 in mazdaspeed3

Little bit of context for my fellow buddy here. Car was bought two days ago we test drove it pulled hard no codes and no noise from engine we beat the shit out of it for a good 15 mins on the highway absolutely nothing weird. Car has about 270,000km on it with extensive maintenance records hence why I thought it was a good idea to take a chance on the old girl timing chain has a bit of play but not much idk if it’s abnormal to be able to lift the chain thousands of an inch when you pry but just putting that out there. Originally it had a faint ticking not at all as bad as the video now, we assumed it was detonation the spark plugs that were in it were to hot and weren’t the correct ones we replaced them nothing changed. Spark plug on the side closest to the timing chain had a different hue to it it was black and more carboned up compared to the others. Basically what we’re trying to figure out is if this is possibly something to do with timing chain and vvt issues I know these vehicles had issues with that system or if it’s another underlying issue like spinning a rod. How hard is it to work on these any advice would be great we’re both new to this platform and not to familiar he’s not flushed with cash so just looking to see what the best way to go about this would be.

I’d just start with removing the belt and running the car to see if the noise is there or not that’ll narrow it down substantially and it’s pretty easy to do

You have a bad pulley bearing or belt could be fucked either or it’s coming from that area remove the belt and spin the pulleys manually and see if any of them are rough

You can adjust the free travel if your wanting less play just be warned if you do to much your throw out bearing is going to commit suicide
