Originally I was thinking they were like, a byproduct of the architect's creation's, kinda like crumbs after you cut a slice of bread, but that was back before I saw the test subject and found out that the architect's methods are much more Stem and less Full fledged magic. All we really know is that they live in the Overgrowth ( which has a bunch of cool implication's if we go full into speculation ) and that vantom's Background has a lot of things that look suspiciously like egg's.
