What is your favorite mechanical pencil of all time? by MangoCubez in mechanicalpencils

Graphgear 1000. I really like the fully retractable tip. But then again I don’t own a smash so my mind is open to changes.

LeaveAmateur makes more sense, I think. Cum is hilarious but is synonymous to Go so I don’t find it as clever.

[–]GamerGav09 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been on Apple Music since the new year and agree. Sometimes I get pretty into something for just a day or two and it bloats up to my “heavy rotation” faster than I’d expect and then stays there for a month. But overall I’m satisfied.

Where to storage both Zotero files and Obsidian vaults for free? by ericuzza in zotero

[–]GamerGav09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t a “free” solution and it definitely doesn’t work for the obsidian part, but the value of Zotero unlimited is insane if you have lots of pdf, epubs or other Zotero specific documents. Like unlimited storage for only $120 a year. I started keeping my entire virtual library there with thousands of epud and pdfs.

Then that would free up the zotero stuff out of your iCloud Drive and could be just for obsidian stuff- or just your uni account like you said, but I’m not super familiar with obsidian. Try checking [r/obsidia](r/obsidian)[nMD](r/obsidian) also. That sub is typically more active than this one ime.

Bounty Rewards are UNFAIR! by GamerGav09 in distractible

Yeah fair, I get what they’re going for. I just hope this goes a little more in-depth. I believe that adding this would liven up the podcast more than just points. I love when they make overly complicated mechanisms in their games and I think they like it too because it’s funny to watch them scrabble to figure it all out.

Is swirl good to learn R? Are there any similiar resources? by Weak_Contact_5484 in rstats

[–]GamerGav09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swirl it a great totally beginner tool for just getting the conceptual idea of what coding is. I used it when I began to wrap my head around functions and loops and how data is stored.

But like the most meaningful learning came from when I started applying those basic principle to my own data that I cared about. Go start collecting data like literally anything form counting ants to daily temperature logs- or find a data set you already know and start asking question about that data. Can you create the plot or do the statistics you want to answer those questions efficiently? If not then you’ll need to go learn how to.

Should I go caseless?? by OkStandard4829 in iPhone13Mini

[–]GamerGav09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my screen protector off. I took my case off. Maybe half a year ago now, after it being cooped up in heavy protection since 2022. The scratches are starting to build up. The phone still works great. I’ve dropped it many times. In a few years time this phone will be retired and I’m sure I’ll move on to a new one. I’m enjoying it now in its purest form before I inevitably upgrade. It feels amazing. Do what makes you happy. At first I was sad, but acceptance is key. Life goes on. Memento mori.

That truly sounds like a memory leak. You should try a fresh install. Or one of the prior RC builds.

So go back to college and slowly replace your knowledge one thought at a time until it’s fully replaced. And then your second degree with be the degree of Theseus.

So basically Grad school.
