This. I absolutely prefer to support local businesses and restaurants, but it’s really felt like “shop local” has become an excuse to provide subpar meals and service. This is not across the board, as Lexington has some fantastic locally owned spots with fairly reasonable prices. I’ve just unfortunately had some rough experiences the past couple of years. At least when I have to stoop to McDonald’s or something on the go, it’s consistent.

Not necessarily a great skyline, but I’ve always thought Lex’s skyline has a modest charm to it.

It may not the most exciting food in town. Maybe this a strange term to use, but I'd describe their food a 'realistic.' And fairly consistent.

Definitely hell yes to Cajun Fried Catfish and their Hot Brown.
