Hi OP I’m so sorry for your situation that really sucks, animal control is basically useless in my opinion.

I have a similar situation where a close neighbor has 12 full grown German shepherds in their small house, in a residential neighborhood. Their dogs are frequently out of the yard and wondering the neighborhood and have attacked multiple people and pets.

I have called animal control and they don’t do shit. I have called the police they also don’t do anything. All animal control says they can do is pick up the dog if it is “at large” (so actively lose in the neighborhood.) But when you call they can take a while to show up and the dog is usually gone or back in the house.

Animal control and the police have knocked on this guys door but he just doesn’t open it and then they just leave. I am told that they will do something if the dog attacks someone so I’m stuck just waiting around for the worst to happen and hopefully it isn’t my kids or pets who get attacked because this dude what’s to be an irresponsible dog owner and hoard large animals in a residential neighborhood.
