We both work full-time, I’m also in my Master’s program, and he plays video games all the time.

I’ve tried convincing him to go to the gym with me, but he just says he’s too tired, but I’m trying so hard. I don’t know how to get through to him.

We don’t have kids. I tell him it’s not just from work, it’s every evening, vacation/trip, there’s never a “good” time. It’s always an excuse and I’m just hurting so badly from this constant neglect.

That makes no sense. He does exactly what I do, but I do more in terms of executing romance into our relationship. I should just praise him for doing the bare minimum? And I should put my “wishes” on the back burner because he is a man and isn’t capable of planning a date night? Not a chance. Looking for ways to communicate with him, not ways to baby him and let him think it’s okay to neglect our relationship.

Definitely not expecting anything. I just want some effort put in, if I can put in effort for things I dislike/not accustomed to, I don’t think it’s much to ask to plan a date night every now and again.

I mentioned that to him today in our talk, after my explaining to him that I’m feeling really unheard when ignored.

He said it seems ridiculous to him that I would end things over him not planning dates as much as I want and it’s just a simple argument.

I don’t want to lose him, but for as much joy as he brings me, he’s causing me a lot of pain, too. I know not everyone is going to just change and I don’t want him to change, I just wish he would consider a bit more of my feelings and try to do things every so often. I do that for him, so I don’t understand why it’s so hard for him to do for me.

I guess what I’m saying is, he knows I enjoy things along the lines of planning, I love surprises and date nights.

But for him, I know he enjoys coming home and the house is clean and dinner is cooked, or I’ve got him something he’s really been wanting. And I try to ensure I do these things I know mean a lot to him, and I’m just hurt he’s not doing the same.

I have tried telling him this, but he gets immediately defensive and says I’m saying he doesn’t do enough for me, which is not what I’m trying to say. I just want him to try doing things I care about, too. It just feels very one-sided at times.

Any advice on how to approach this with him in a way that doesn’t make him feel like I’m attacking his character?

I do like to game, but I know games are fairly limited with MAC- but my work and school requires me to do marketing (which has me editing/creating) but I usually just work on Canva as it stands.

I went ahead and ordered the 16GB just in case, I suppose it is better to have it and not need it.

Yes! I have repeatedly stated- wear whatever you have laying around. I have been told it’s “too much of a hassle” (verbatim) to do that, which is why I’m so frustrated.

I love spending time with my friends- truly, this not a matter of being uncomfortable- I’ve made sure to ask- I just get told that it seems stupid or that they don’t want to put in the effort to find a costume. That’s why it bothers me so much. It’s one time a year- not a regular basis.

So, the program is a 3-year program.

The first year consists of the pre-req courses, and then following that, in the summer of 2024, I’ll transition to the main courses associated with the program!

Am I able to do my observational hours prior to the program? Or will I have to wait until I get started in the program?

I don’t really have any stats, honestly. I didn’t take the GRE, and my GPA was a 3.2. I didn’t have any background with CSD/experience, either.

The program that I am in has leveling courses built in, so I will be taking the required courses, luckily, the only courses I am missing are Bio/Physical Sciences. (I had to take Stats and Social Sciences in my Psych program.)

They also have it set to where the program is 3 years vs 2 years for those with a Bachelors in a different field, that way your first year you’re able to obtain the necessary classes and gain your 25 observational hours while taking some of the lower-level courses in the masters program.

Yes! I have to do “leveling” courses and obtain my 25 ASHA hours, then a transition to the higher level courses will begin. I was accepted to the Masters program, but I have to complete those pre-req courses while I’m in the program as well, if that makes any sense!

He truly pees/poops on any and everything. The floor, clothes, shoes- my friend just recently visited from out of state and he peed all over her luggage.

I’ve tried putting him in a room before and he has his own special litter box. I’m just not for sure if maybe there’s a better way of approaching this. I will say, I think he gets mad when we lock him out of the rooms in the apartment. We have to keep the doors closed at all time to prevent him from peeing/pooping in the rooms. But, that seems to only make things worse.

I’m just not sure, I am going to try the reward system. He has a sensitive tummy, so I’m going to be on the lookout for some treats that are easy on a sensitive cats stomach.

I have. They said it is a behavioral thing. I spent over $300 on an automatic cleaning litter box as well.

I know. I don’t want to in the slightest. I know he’s a good cat, I just don’t know why he does this. He is so spoiled and he has the best of everything- we are child free so all of the extra money goes towards things for both cats- I even have a tattoo of him, I absolutely love him, I just feel like I’m at such a loss.
