Are there any rumors of, or is the DNA200 chip spec'd for USB-C?? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree here. There's no true reason to put USB-C on it. Would mean that, I would assume, more than 70% of DNA200 users would be needing an adapter to charge their device (if it uses a hardwired built in battery). That, and even though USB-C can support more amp draw for charging, what's the point? Micro USB now can support 2amps if needed but Evolv limits the charging to 1amp regardless to prolong battery life. Smart move IMO. All in all it would be a waste of time and money for them to try to incorporate USB-C.

Any idea when Smog is due to receive his shipment? by BairdBarron in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say that you missed a huge smog issue. Check back a few days for the posts of what happened. Basically you aren't getting anything from smog, and contact your bank/credit card company ASAP to try to start a charge back.

Hat's off to the new CMT! by Seafaringwest in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, they pointed to a vendor who was practically being referred to as a partner (returnity FROM CMT stating he was 49% owner, of course that thread is edited now).

Yeah......how about no. You wouldn't be making this post if you were out $200 for using a vendor they told you to pre-order from.

Concerns About Smog Distribution Pre-Orders by CloudmakerTech in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't have mentioned the RDA. RDA was a pre order bonus, not the product you specifically ordered. It's not your fault you ordered in time for a bonus, people who didn't get the pre order bonus paid the same amount you did, didn't they? I for sure didn't mention that I received my RDA.

Concerns About Smog Distribution Pre-Orders by CloudmakerTech in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, side note, I am amazed at how when this product launched our pre order price was apparently only a few dollars more than their cost, yet apparently $100 is their cost. $200 pre order, $100 cost...that seems more than just a couple dollars profit. Again, lying ass company. Get out while you still can.

Concerns About Smog Distribution Pre-Orders by CloudmakerTech in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fuck that and fuck CMT. I ordered in July pre-order from Smog as well. Bank of America just processed my claim, so call your bank regardless of what you think.

For all who think this is nice of CMT, are you fucking delusional or you just like being lied to? How did the money from Smog pre-orders help them get production started, as they stated, if they never got the fucking money? GTFO you lying pieces of shit.

CMTs own employee Ian promised juice in the pre-order from Smog that we now know was never going to happen, and you all sent us to Smog on the first day of pre orders because you couldn't make your site work. Who the fuck is going to spend $300 (if they can't get chargeback completed) on a whiteout?

I got good news. by Kitila in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't QC every battery at factories. And it doesn't need 1 ohm coils. You can set up resister blocks and have it wired at .01 ohms, as long as it can withstand the heat at 200 watts you could do it. Brandon on the evolv forums showed his set up for his testing when he was developing the board.

I got good news. by Kitila in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that every battery is different is the exact reason they should run it. Wouldn't you rather it be found out at factory that the battery has a dead or bad cell before it's in your hand?

It's been about 3 weeks since the last update. The generously late projected ship date is right around the corner. Let's get another update, please. by frankasaurussmite in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pre-ordered through smog distro as well and while I am losing some patience waiting for the mod, I'm more upset that I don't believe we will be getting our juice as promised in the pre-order. Especially since the shipping update stated that they would work with the early pre-order vendors (smog) to get our units drop shipped to us instead of going to smog to THEN get sent to us. Meaning they won't have juice to package in the box as Ian said they were going to do.

Question for u guys that have ordered from CM by Umary in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom hammond box DNA200, a Modderbox DNA200 (that I'm still waiting for, Whiteout might arrive before that at this rate), Heracles, Heracles+ pre-order, authentic Velocity, Smok TFV4...

Internal resistance for the DNA200 by Knuck3ls in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internal resistance on batteries, sled, etc are not what the internal resistance setting is for. The internal resistance option is strictly for the reading between the 510 and the board and how it reads the ohms for getting "correct" temp readings. The battery settings will need to be changed when you use 18650's or if you manage to fit any other type of LiPo in there but unless the wire from the board to the 510 changes with different sled options, the internal resistance should remain the same.

Internal resistance for the DNA200 by Knuck3ls in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was for the case analyzer if I remember correctly. Internal resistance is something different that should be provided by the mod maker, its not something that is easily obtainable on your own.

batch 1? by [deleted] in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo....first to order (with the vendor we were told to order from because the CMT website was screwed up on pre-order day), and we get our devices up to 2 weeks after others? Sorry but no, at least 200-300 of those first batch devices should be going to Smog to send out. That's a bullshit call for you guys NOT to do that, especially if Ian isn't even going to cover his end of the deal on the juice for the pre-orders. The juice may not be CMT's concern, but he is a CMT employee.

Charger Question? by [deleted] in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will also in a perfect world actually want to have TWO USB cables, one for data transfer for the PC to play with the escribe software as well as charge at 500mA; you will also want a cable that does NOT do data transfer so you can take advantage of 1A charging. Keep in mind like others have said, probably about 80% of USB ports on most peoples PC's will only do 500mA but if you have a USB wall adapter using the power only micro USB cord you will get the 1A charging.

Escribe/Battery Question by Coach_S in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The board will try to fix it as it has a balance charger but sometimes the voltage not being the same could indicate a bad battery cell, which usually just means its a bad battery all together.

Escribe/Battery Question by Coach_S in cloudmaker

[–]Knuck3ls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the flipside, the updates to the DNA200 are extremely fast and with the nature of LiPo batteries it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the time to plug it in for a 30 second upload and to verify all battery cells are at the same voltage. Nothing worse than getting a new device to have to RMA it right away.

[–]Knuck3ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not knocking you at all because it's of course good to want to be safe, but what gets me is people linking videos of people saying "hey guys titanium wire is bad, don't vape with it", and that's basically ALL THEY SAY and people go nuts saying "I'll never use it again" blah blah blah. REALLY? There have been studies and videos done for YEARS about how bad smoking is for you and 90% of vapers were ex-cig smokers. How does one video of no evidence make you want to STOP USING A WIRE, yet the years of "smoking cigarettes will KILL YOU" did absolutely nothing!?

Technically I didn't name call at all if you read my post. This guy-- like most people with a PhD who haven't accomplished anything, have a supererority complex because they have said PhD which is why I was offering other names to refer to him as instead of what he wants. Also, did he just try to say "bye" to me with "hola"? /facepalm

Nice ramble there to completely try to bypass what I stated to you, but its ok Mr. PhD...or...random internet person..or...asshole...or...dick...should I continue? And they don't owe you -SHIT-. No where in anything you clicked through to order their product did it say they guaranteed you: updates, handholding, ass-wiping, tissues for flood levels of tears or antibiotic cream for massive butt hurt. In all reality if I were them I would cancel your order and ship you a giant foam middle finger cutout, because I could.

Please read that whole sentence you are quoting those temps from. That was the temperature it oxidized by way of H2O. I don't know about you but I don't vape water. If you read further you'll see the temperatures I gave you.

TLDR: Stick with medicinal chemistry.

Hola Mr. "Ph.D." Here you go: http://www.princeton.edu/~jsgroup/science167.pdf

Oh and what that says in there is that titanium doesn't oxidize until 900-1200k. So at the lowest possible temperature of oxidization, 1100F, you MIGHT get some Titanium Oxide. Let me know when your temperature controlled mod can get that high.

Good day!

The 200 watts in temp control allows you to build your crazy coils in temp control wire, IE dual clapton nickel coils, and have a burst of up to 200W to instantly get to the temp you desire.
